ROBERT LAING CROMARTY On Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Frank Allen, the former Mary Agnes Worden, celebrated her ninetieth birthday at Kilbarchan Nursing Home, Seaforth, with her family as guests. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Worden and was born three miles west of Cromarty on June 18, 1884, where she lived until her marriage to Frank Allen, They resided on the Allen home farm one mile west of Cromarty until retiring to the village in the early 1950s. Following her husband's death, she lived with some of her family until going to Kilbarchan. Mrs. Allen has a family of two sons, Anthony of Stratford, and Eldon of Cromarty, and two daughters, Vera, (Mrs. Alfred Ross) of Staffa, and Margaret (Mrs. Murray Christie) of Cromarty. There are 13 grand- children and eleven great grandchildren. Mrs. Allen gets great en- joyment from receiving cards and is able to read them without glasses. Birthday congratulations are extended from all her Cromarty friends. Personals Andrea Ellen Scott, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Scott, was baptised by the Rev. W. Jarvis during the church service on Sunday morning. Later a family gathering was held at the home of her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Thos. L. Scott. Prance and Mrs. Wm. Gill were in Detroit a week ago visiting the Ford Museum. John Prance has been ill in South Huron Hospital and is improving. Mr. & Mrs. Jos. Flowers in the church were placed in memory of Glenn Ratz, by the family. The Cemetery Committee was in charge of the Memorial. Friday evening a bridal shower was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Haist in honor of Darlene Passmore, daughter of Mrs, Almer Passmore and Janice Haist, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Haist, Relatives of the family were present. Shelley Weber has found summer employment at the Ausable Conservation Authority, Exeter. Patty Pfaff is employed on the farm of .Howard Hen- drick. Bill Gaiser is a patient at South Huron Hospital.
