Tigers start
H-P Friday
The Dashwood Tigers make
their first start in the Huron-
Perth intermediate baseball
league Friday night.
The Tigers made op of a
mixture of veterans and untried
rookies will take the field at
Dashwood Community Park at 8
p,m. with Thorndale supplying
the opposition.
George Tiernan will be nan-
dling the managerial duties with
help from two of the players Bill
Schade and Bob Hoffman. Also
assisting will be Doug Riddell.
The mainstay of the pitching
staff is expected to be
righthander Bill Schade and a
pair of southpaws Jim Guenther
and Dave Ratz.
Expected back are Jim Hoff-
man, Bud Desjardine, Pete
Ravelle and Gary Hartman to
mention only a few.
Manager Tiernan said this
week, "don't be surprised if we
come up with a surprise bat-
tery."
Exeter youngsters tired.
Leading the Exeter team on the
offensive were Paul Van Gerwen
and Graham Harris.
In the atom division, Exeter
lost 2-0 to the Seaforth Olympics.
The locals missed an open goal
and a penalty shot and stayed on
even terms with their opposition
as far as territorial play was
concerned. Seaforth turned in a
better positional game.
The Exeter club again received
excellent goal tending from Peter
Dearing.
