DOG OWNERS
Township of Tuckersmith
Under Tuckersmith Bylaw No, 17-1974, no dogs are to
be permitted to run at large. All owners or harbourers of dogs
are required to obtain a dog tag and pay an annual license
fee. Every owner shall pay the following license fee:
For a male dog or spayed female dog $ 5.00
For each additional male or spayed
female dog 20.00
For a female dog, if only one is kept 10.00
For a second female dog 25.00
For each additional male or female dog
exceeding 2 dogs, owned by the same
person or household 30.00
The license fees must be paid between June 17 and July
6, 1974 to the Township of Tuckersmith and must be paid to
one of the following:
Elgin Thompson, RR 3, Kippen
Ervin Sillery, RR 1, Brucefield
Cleave Coombs, Egmondville
Bert Branderhorst, RR 1, Hensall
Jim Broadfoot, Vanastra
Any dog owner not obtaining a dog tag by July 6, will
be liable to be charged by the Animal Control Officer for the
Township of Tuckersmith.

During the past few weeks
Some members from the Hensall
Churches have been canvassing
the village for the Canadian Bible
Society. Mrs. Sim Roobal was the
Convener for this project and
Eric Luther was the treasurer.
The total amount collected was
$232.35. Canvassing from the
Anglican church were Mrs.
Frank Forrest and Mrs. Annie
.Reid. From the Presbyterian
Church were Mrs. Ruby
Hoggarth, Mrs. Melvin Glanville,
Mrs. Percy Campbell, Mrs. John
Skea, Mrs. Ellis Stewart and
Tammy Baker.

Wareing welcomed members and
read a poem "With a consecrated
ear." This was followed by a
devotional entitled "Little
Things" given by Shirley
McAllister based on scripture
passages from Psalm 8 and
devotions from Christian Women.
The offering was taken and
dedicated. The roll call, was
answered by 17 members and two
guests with a Bible book with the
first letter of your name, Grace
Drummond conducted the
business.
Unit II is responsible to put
flowers in the Church for the
month of June. An invitation was
received to attend Open House at
the Queensway Nursing Home on
June 17, 7 - 9 p.m, A report on the
Presbyterial was given by Kay
Mock. In 1973 400 parcels were
sent by the. Presbytery.
Circle ladies

Mrs. Harvey Hyde, president of
the WMS of Carmel Presbyterian
Church welcomed guests from
Chiselhurst Church, First
Presbyterian Church, Seaforth,
Arnold Circle Members and
Home Helpers to the 84th bir-
thday party of the Society.
The devotional was taken by
Mrs. Percy Campbell and Mrs.
Glenn Bell who opened with a
prayer and the singing of "Now
Thank We all Our God."
Mrs. Campbell read the
scripture, Psalm 100 and led in
prayer. Mrs. Eric Luther guest
soloist sang two solos "Heaven
Came Down and Glory Filled My
Soul" and "Amazing Grace".
Mrs. Malcolm Dougall ac-
companied at the piano. Mrs.
Glenn Bell gave the devotional
meditation on "God Gives
us richly all things."

of Staffa who gave an in-

asked to save white material,

Mona Alderdice reported on the
beef barbeque, and announced
that over 500 were served. The
topic was taken by Pearl
Passmore, and a theme given by
Dr. Tennyson Guyer on the "Art
of Happiness" and how it depends
on faith in God. Ann Brock
gave a report on the Friendship
and Visitation. Jean Wareing
circulated 15 verses read by
members "If Jesus Came to your
house?" A delicious lunch was
served by Donna Corbett, Kay
Mock and Mary Merritt.

Mrs. Daynard showed slides on
the Country, its people, animals
and the work their son is doing
there with the CIDA. Mrs. Harry
Snell thanked Mrs. Daynard,
Mrs.Luther and all taking part.
Mrs. Meston, who cut the birth-
day cake gave an' appropriate
poem, congratulating the Ladies
on their 84th birthday
celebration.

Noble Grand Mrs. Aldeen
Volland presided at the meeting
of Amber Rebekah Lodge 349 on
Wednesday evening, assisted by
the Vice Grand, Mrs. Margaret
Consitt.
The Charter of the Lodge was
draped in memory of the late
Sister Nancy Kyle.
Arrangements were made to
have a "Pot Luck" lunch
following the meeting June 19,
which will be the last meeting
until September.
A communication was read
from the District Deputy Grand
Master of Huron District 8. Bro.
Alex Meikle on the presentation
of the Titmus Vision Tester to the
Huron County Health Unit made
possible from the I.O.O.F, and
Rebekah Lodges.
The Installation of the officers
of the 1.0.0.F, of Huron District
will be held in the Hensall Lodge
on Wednesday June 26 at 8 p.m.
This is an open meeting to which
brothers and sisters are invited.
