WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD On Sunday morning at the church service Rev. Barry Robinson played his drums, along with the organ played by Agnes Bray accompanied the choir as they sang `The Lord's Prayer'. There were four young people joined the church by profession of faith, namely Kenneth Hunkin, Lawrence Kellett, Susan Morgan and Murray Stewart. By transfer :Richard Mellenger and Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Friesen. The ladies were presented with a red rose and the men a car- nation by Mrs. Lee Webber and Mrs. Bev Alexander. 25th anniversary Mrs. Myrtle Passmore, Darlene and Dale, Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Passmore, Bill Hooper, Mr. & Mrs. Doug Rohde, Exeter; Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde and Calvin, Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Rohde and Danny and Mr. & Mrs. David Passmore attended the surprise picnic at Bayfield Park Sunday for Mr. & Mrs. Ross Merrill of Bayfield and Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Elliott of Clinton. The occasion was the twenty- fifth wedding anniversary for the Merrill's and the Elliott's. The two ladies are sisters. Define stewardship The June meeting of the United Church Women was held on Monday evening with Mrs. William Rowcliffe as hostess. Mrs. Wes Reid, program convener, was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Reid gave the definition of Stewardship. A reading on Stewardship was given by Mrs. Bev Alexander. A reading "'fake Time To Live" by Mrs. Howard Cun- nington; scripture by Mrs. William Rohde; poem, "Your Task to Build a Better World" by Mrs. Glen Lamnort and the of- fertory prayer by Mrs, Bev Alexander were given. Mrs. Reid gave the in- troduction of the film on "India and Thailand" which showed a dire need for money for food and other necessities. Mrs. Lamport gave the closing prayer. Mrs. Lee Webber then took charge of the business, Final plans were made for the Strawberry Supper. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Group W served lunch. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Henry Rosenfeld, Wheatley, visited on Thursday with Mr. & Mrs. Donald Bray. Mr. & Mrs. Case de mooy, Sandra and Shari, London were guests Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Passmore. Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Miller, Brian, Barry and Barbara at- tended the Brock reunion on Sunday at Riverview Park, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Ballantyne, London were guests Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne. They attended decoration service at Roy's church Sunday af- ternoon. Debbie Siddall, Kirkton spent the weekend with Susan Morgan. Group W of the U.C.W. catered to the Parker-Cann wedding on Saturday. Many from this community attended the reception and dance at Hensall Arena Saturday evening. About forty pupils of Agnes Bray A.R.C.T.R.M.T. put on a spring concert of music on Wednesday evening last. Refreshments were served at the close of the programme. Mt. Carmel brides feted A miscellaneous bridal shower was held Sunday at the home of Mrs. Noreen McCann for two nieces, brides-elect of June and July. Margaret McCann and Bar- bara McCann were honoured by their aunts and relatives. More than 30 guests were present. Helen McCann read the ad- dress and Barb and Margaret thanked each one for their beautiful gifts. C.W.L, meet A good attendance of C.W.L. members met for the June meeting in the school gym Monday. Mrs. Jean Fleming, president, gave suggestions to raise money for future months. Mrs. Helene Regier, Mrs. Chas. Dietrich and Mrs. Jack McCann gave papers on the hilights of the London Annual C.W.L. con- vention. Rev. Fr. Mooney spoke on his new church to worship in each Sunday in Exeter and hoped for as good an attendance from now on as was present last Sunday. Lunch was served by Mrs. Mary Cronyn, Mrs. Earl Dietrich and Mrs. Mary Pavkeje. Personals Mr. & Mrs. John Glavin and Danny and Mr. & Mrs. Kenny Glavin visited Wendy Clark in University Hospital, London last Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Clem McCann attended Fanshawe graduation exercises in London last Friday when their daughters Susan and Diane were among the graduates, Mr. Patrick Sullivan Sr., arrived home from St. Joseph's Hospital, Sarnia and his daughter, Mrs. Jerome Regier is visiting with him for a few days. Mary Theresa McCann, London spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Arnold McCann. Mrs. Laura McCann is being cared for at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Tom Ryan after being a patient in St. Mary's Hospital, London, , • Y..
