Finds sign of Whalen post office

CLANDEBOYE
Mr. Clarence Millson is in
possession of the Whalen Post
Office sign post belonging to his
' grandfather John Millson who
operated the general store and
post office in Whalen Corners on
Highway 23,
The sign is over one hundred
years old and Mr. & Mrs. George
Millson also operated the
business for 50 years. The sign
• post will be touched up and
displayed at the Museum in the
old school house in Whalen
Corners. It's made entirely of
pine.
Plan Bake Sale
The June meeting of the
Clandeboye UCW was held at the
manse in Lucan Monday evening
with seven ladies present. Mrs. C.
Coughlin presided and set the
date for the bake sale & tea,
October 26.
Mrs. Coughlin took the study
book. The next meeting will be in
September.

Susan Hardy has successfully
completed her year at Centralia
Agriculture College taking
Animal Husbandry.

trouncing Monday night when
they played Corbett, their next
game will be in Clandeboye June
10. Its good practice boys, so keep

This two week course is open to all elementary student
This two week course is open to all elementary students in Lambton
County. It will be held at the Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical
School indoor pool. Basic swim instruction, water safety and drown-
proofing are included.

before June 21. Adults may register at any Secon-
dary School. The student is advised to seek guidance
at his own school prior to registration.
Late registrations could be accepted at Alexander Mackenzie July 3 and
July 4 but some classes may be filled.
A class will be offered in any subject in which there is sufficient de-
mand.

TYPE "B" COURSES:
Upgrading courses for credit.
STUDENTS: Secondary school students who are taking either general
or advanced level subjects and grade eight students who
wish up-grading in any subjects they have taken in the
regular school year. A maximum of two subjects can be
taken.
REGISTRATION: Students are to register at Alexander Mackenzie
Secondary school July 1 and July 2 between the
hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. After Tuesday July 2 a late
registration fee of $5,00 may be charged.
LENGTH: Two hours per day, per course for 6 weeks July 3 - Aug. 14.
SUBJECTS: A class will be offered in any subject in which there is suf-
ficient demand,
TYPE "C" COURSES;
Interest Courses; Non-credit.
STUDENTS; All students and any adults who wish to attend.
LENGTH: Generally two hours per day for two, three or four weeks.
NOTE THE EXCEPTIONS. Course starts July 3.
REGISTRATION: At any secondary school in Lambton County or by
Mail to Mr. A. P. Braekevelt, Alexander Mackenzie
Secondary School, 1257 Michigan Avenue, Sarnia.
(Please do not mail cash). Students will receive a class card by mail in-
dicating the place and meeting time of the first class.

GENERAL INFORMATION
There will be a materials fee of $5.00 for the summer school
regardless of the type of course or the number of courses taken, (Ex-
ceptions are Driver Education at $45.00 and Mini-Bike at $15.00 and
Pottery at $8.00). Students are requested to make cheques payable to

and "C" Courses the students are urged to pre-register at one of the
Secondary Schools or elementary school students by mail to Mr. D.

NB - Persons on Disability Pensions and Old-Age Pensions will have
all fees waived.
Type "B" Upgrading students must register at Alexander Mackenzie
