DAVID KESTLE CLANDEBOYE Mr. Clarence Millson is in possession of the Whalen Post Office sign post belonging to his ' grandfather John Millson who operated the general store and post office in Whalen Corners on Highway 23, The sign is over one hundred years old and Mr. & Mrs. George Millson also operated the business for 50 years. The sign • post will be touched up and displayed at the Museum in the old school house in Whalen Corners. It's made entirely of pine. Plan Bake Sale The June meeting of the Clandeboye UCW was held at the manse in Lucan Monday evening with seven ladies present. Mrs. C. Coughlin presided and set the date for the bake sale & tea, October 26. Mrs. Coughlin took the study book. The next meeting will be in September. Clandeboye Lucan Girl Guides Deputy Comm. Doreen Kime and Debbie Kime attended the work meeting and enrollment when one leader Lieut. Corrine Rosch was enrolled. Five ten- derfoot girls passed all the requirements to be enrolled. Dorothy Cunningham, Sylvia Rosche, Anna Lies Baekker, Kim Scott and Shelly Egan. Brown Owl Ruth Ann Kurtis and Tawny Owl Ann de Boer joined the guides and leaders for the closing camp fire. Personals Mr. & Mrs. John Simpson and Paul were Sunday visitors with Mrs. M. J. Simpson. Mrs, Wilfred Cunningham returned to St. Joseph's Hospital Tuesday and underwent surgery successfully on Friday. Ralph Simpson, London called Friday morning and Mr. & Mrs. M. Simpson and Mathew were Saturday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Simpson. George Robertson, Jamie Robertson, Theresa Newman, Dorothy Cunningham and Janis Kestle attended the Gospel Rock concert on Saturday night at Centennial Hall London. Mr. & Mrs. Arn Blake, Mr. & Mrs. Keith Simpson and David helped Timmy Shipley to celebrate his birthday on Sunday at his home in Lucan. Mrs. Ernest Lewis spent last week in Goderich with Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Lewis and family Goderich. Wayne and Charlene Williams have an addition to their family - a wee girl. Mrs. Harold Hardy, Susan and Mrs. Frank Hardy attended the graduation ceremonies at UWO Tuesday when Carolyn Hardy received her BA in Social Science (Geog.). Carolyn has been ac- cepted at Althouse College. Hazel Simpson • who has graduated from London Teachers College has accepted a position to teach in Galt-Cambridge with the Waterloo County School Board. Susan Hardy has successfully completed her year at Centralia Agriculture College taking Animal Husbandry. Clandeboye Pee Wee's took a trouncing Monday night when they played Corbett, their next game will be in Clandeboye June 10. Its good practice boys, so keep plugging on. Mr. & Mrs. G. Lewis and Nancy called for a visit with Mr. & Mrs. A, Lewis. Mr. & Mrs. H. Murless were entertained on the occasion of their Golden Anniversary at the home of their daughter and son- in-law Gerry and Sue Edgington with the rest of their family and a few close friends. The Edgingtons presented their parents with two plane tickets to England. They will be leaving July 28 to stay for one month. Mr. & Mrs. Max Bloye had a family get together on Monday at their home in Thorndale on the occasion of Mr. Harry Murless' seventy sixth birthday.
