replanting on these lots without
many trees," Torn MacMillan
said, "That is why it has taken us
a year to reach this stage, we are
trying to save as many trees as
possible. Rather than bulldoze
the whole site to put in wiring and
plumbing we have an un-

many of the trees."

Set back from the road, in a
birch Woodlet, about a mile from
Lake Huron, Birch. Bark. Park,
offers quiet, peaceful camping to
travelling families.
Scheduled to officially open on
Saturday June 1, Birch Bark
Park is the product of more than
a year's work by two area
couples. Tom and Del Mac-
Millan , Exeter and their
daughter and son-in-law Mickey
and Ivan Luther, Grand Bend
have put long hours of work into
the park to make it a pleasant
haven for campers.
The camp covers ap-
proximately 25 acres and
stretches back from Highway 83
for half a mile into the bush.
The camp has basically three
sections. The front third is an
open field, just off the road which
will be equipped with picnic
tables for travellers who just
want to stop for lunch.
The second section of the camp
has been cleared and serviced
with hydro, sewers and water and
includes 50 trailer sites. Some of
Board wants
policy change
Middlesex County Board of
Education this week directed its
administrative staff to look into
the possibility of changing its
agreement to purchase education
from Perth County, effective
September 1976.
The possible change would
permit students in the northeast
part of Middlesex who attend St.
Marys Collegiate and Vocational
Institute to attend a Middlesex
County secondary school if they
wished and as long as the student
and parents concerned were
responsible for transportation.
There are approximately 77
Middlesex students now going to
the St. Marys school.
The board also asked that the
agreement with Perth be
reviewed annually in the light of
building developments which
may influence enrolment
projections at Medway and other
Middlesex secondary schools,
In other business, the board
approved participatiori of in-
terested students from Nor-
thdale, River Heights, and
Willowdale Schools in the
swimming program to be offered
at the North Dorchester Com-
munity Pool in June. There will
be no cost to the board for the
program.
Many of the board's obsolete
surplus textbooks no longer
recommended for use in Mid-
dlesex schools will be given to the
Turks and Caicos 'Islands. The
board has authorized that surplus
books not required by the schools
be given to Herb McClure of
London.
Mr. McClure plans to ship them
at his own expense to the
Caribbean Islands.
Finally, because many trustees
will be attending the annual
convention of the Ontario Public
School Trustees' Association in
Hamilton on June 3, the board
decided to postpone its regular
meeting scheduled for that date
to June 10.
