DAVID KESTLE ,aANDgftcM Clandeboye W.I., held their May meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Chas. Cnoglilin Mrs, W, Scott presided and Mrs. Harold Hardy called the roll. When eight members and two visitors ,brought an article for the Tweedsmuir History. Delegates were chosen for the District Annual, Mrs. H. Hardy,. Mrs, C. Coughlin and Mrs. H. Henry on May U. Two readings from Federated news were read and Carolyn Hardy presented her article By MRS, ROSS SKINNER EllMVIttE The Elimville Women's Institute held their May meeting at the hall May 8. Roll call was answered by "What I have learned from someone of another country';; Mrs. Philip Johns presented Judy Parsons with a gift for receiving Provincial Honours in 4-11 at Achievement Day, Michele Robinson performed a tap dance number. Mrs. Gilbert Johns gave a brief outline of the A.C.W.W. Con- ference to be held in Perth, Australia, later this year. Mrs. Jackson Woods discussed Australia as a country which proved very informative. Mrs. Bison Lynn gave a report of the Officers Conference she attended at Waterloo College. It was decided to continue collecting newspapers and glass bottles. Lunch was served by Group A, Baptism Family Sunday was observed at Elimville United Church on about Clandeboye 1373. 'This Was donated to the curator .to be put in the History hook• Old picture post cards were shown and maps of the area, Mrs, Coughlin had a lovely display of articles of the past. Everyone was fascinated and enjoyed the beauty of the old home. Mrs: Cecil Carter and Mrs. Allan Hill assisted the hostess to serve refreshments. Mrs, Maynard 1Vlargison and Barry of London visited Mr. & Mrs. Delmer Skinner. Mrs. Don Willcox, Timothy and Tracy and Mrs. Lena Willcox of Kitchener visited on Monday with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routly. Mr. & Mrs. Squire Herdman visited on Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Coates and family and attended service at Exeter United Church where Elizabeth Jane, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Robt. Coates was baptized. Kathy Verhey (Coughlin) recent bride. Decorations were in charge of Mrs. R. Lynn and the gracious bride was seated under a decorated umbrella, assisted by Debbie Glavin and Karen Coughlin. Many useful gifts were presented, The community represented by Mrs. J. Donaldson, Mrs. R. Williams and Mrs, J. Scott who read the address, presented a lovely green occasional chair and a colonial lamp, Mrs. C. Carter gave a very humorous reading and Kathy thanked everyone in her gracious manner, Walkathon The Walk,a-thon had a lot of co- operation from above as well as many diligent persistent, sore and tired walkers. Congratulations are in order to Mr. J. Robertson and his com- mittee who did a fine job. Every church was well represented at the check points and on the walk. Results will be known this week sometime. Personals Mr. & Mrs. A. Frayne, Exeter called Wednesday evening on Dave, and Eleanor Kestle. A family gathering at Clarence Carter's Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day and Kevin Carter and Paul Simpson's 13th birthday included Mr. & Mrs, Ken Carter, Mrs. M. J. United Church fittingly celebrated Mother's Day with a mother-daughter choir and a mother in the pulpit. Mrs, Madden very capably took charge. Brydges Sunday. Mrs. & Mrs. Sweitzer, Shipka called on Saturday evening for a visit with Mrs, J. Donaldson and Mrs. J. McCarthy and girls, Granton. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Hancock and family, London, Mr. & Mrs. Gary Donaldson visited on Sunday with their mother. Mr. & Mrs. Doug Lewis and Mrs, Ernie Lewis, London, were Saturday evening guests with Mr. & Mrs. Arn Lewis. Sunday Mrs, E.
