Memory Work Course ht the
Christian Family Service on
Sunday afternoon.
In the absence of Rev, W.
Jarvis, Rev. Harold Snell of
Exeter was in charge. He spoke
on Joshua's words, "As for me
and my house, we will serve the.
Lord," He said it was a message
not only for Mother's Day, but for
any day, any time:, any where.
The junior choir under the
direction of Mrs. F. Horne sang
"Do You Know,"
Money for Cancer
Hibbert Twp. raised a total of
$728.40 for the Cancer Fund this
year. Of this amount, $83.25 was
collected on concessions 10 and 11
with Mrs. Gordon Laing as
convener.
Canvassers were Barbara
McLean, Brenda Gardiner, Pat
Wallace, Murray and Mary Ross,
Margaret Laing, Penny Meikle
and Mary Kinsman.
On concession 12 and 13 Agnes
Russell and Margaret Cole
collected a total of $70.50.
Help Neighbour
Eldon Allen's farm was a busy
place on Saturday when several
neighbours gathered to plant his
• spring grain. Mr. Allen arrived
home Friday from Seaforth
hospital where he had been a
patient since he was injured
while helping in the clean-up
campaign following, the tornado.

The sympathy of this com-
munity is extended to the Rev.
Wilfred Jarvis and his family
following the death of his Mother,
Mrs. Douglas Wilfred Jarvis, in
the Bluewa ter Rest Home,
Zurich. The funeral service was
held last Friday morning at
Ingleside.
On Sunday morning Mrs. John
Jefferson attended the baptism of
her first greatgrandchild,
Charles William Chessell, in
Sebringville United Church and
visited afterwards with his
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Norman
Chessell, Stratford.
Mrs. J. Jefferson visited
Sunday evening with Mr. & Mrs.
Donald Riehl and boys, Seebach's
Hill, and Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred
Chessell, Mitchell,

Frank Allen had the misfortune
to fall at school and sprain his
wrist,
Nelson Lamport has begun
construction of his house on King
Street North.
Gretta Verkerk, daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Verkerk,
Crediton, has graduated with
honours from a four-year course
in Spanish at the University of
Western Ontario. A graduate of
SHDHS, she hopes to make
teaching her career.
