Dial 1570 ministry of housing is holding up draft approval of his subdivision until sewer connections are available. Cost of providing the sewer extension was estimated at around $8,000, Drains committee chairman Tom MacMillan said the ex- tension of sewer services in this area was one of the alternatives in the plans for this year and the committee had anticipated the need for commencing the work. Although a motion was asSurned to be on the books to construct• the sewer when Veri required it, council passed another one approving the work for this year. It will have to be done by an outside contractor as the ex- cavating is deeper than that which can be handled by the town equipment. The road runs south from High- way 83 between Kongskilde Ltd. and Exeter Roofing. The local bottling firm plans to build a plant on Alexander St., although only the warehouse portion of the facility will be constructed this spring. Cost of the road construction is expected to be between $6,000 and $8,000, "We get a lot of taxes out there (industrial area of Highway 83) and this is an opportunity to prove to these people we're trying to do something for them," commented Ted Wright, chairman of the roads com- mittee, in making the recom- mendation to build the street. Mayor Jack Delbridge argued with his thinking to an extent, noting that the opening of Rosemount would bring no benefit to other industries. "Let's face it, we're only doing it for Tuckey," he commented. During the discussion, Wright said he had been told that the ministry of transportation and communications planned to erect a traffic light at the intersection of Highway 83 and Rosemount when the area was more developed. Mayor Delbridge replied this would be ridiculous and suggested council make their opposition known to the ministry. Also approved at the meeting was the construction of a sanitary sewer to provide an outlet for the mobile home park and residential subdivision planned by Len Veri in the area north of Riverview Heights. Veri attended Monday's meeting, pointing out he had been promised that council would untertake the work to provide an outlet for his projects as soon as he required it, He said if the sewer was not constructed until next year when the overall sewer program is undertaken, it would delay his projects for another year, At the present time, the CASH BINGO — Seaforth Legion Hall, Friday, April 5, 1974 at 8:15 p.m. sharp, 15 regular games for $10.00 each; three specials for $25.00 each and a $75,00 Jackpot to go each week.
