Conestoga College of Applied Arts and Technology,
whose job it is to serve the citizens of the Counties of
Buton, Perth, Waterloo and Wellington, is providing valuable
education and training to its 3,000 full-time and 15,000

administrative difficulties. The Board and the total
College are working towards resolving these difficulties
which are largely of an organizational rather than an
educational nature. This problem solving activity is
continuing while we are looking for a new President to
lead the College to provide even bettet service.
We wish to assure the community that we are confident
that the College is effectively preparing students for
rewarding careers through its
relevant programs and
courses of study. An indication of the past success of
Conestoga College is its record of more than 9,000

Last Wednesday was Family
' Night at the Women's Institute.
Members and friends sat down to
a potluck supper in the Com-
munity Hall, then moved upstairs
for theobusiness and program.
Mrs. Walter Weber, president,
welcomed the visitors. Mrs.
Harvey Hodgins was in charge of
the program. Mrs. Earl Haist
read the motto, 'Laugh More and
Worry Less."
William Huntley, Exeter
druggist, was guest speaker. He
outlined the proper handling of
drugs• in the home, basic
requirements for a family
medicine chest, and correct use
of farm chemicals. Mrs. Ross

Mrs. Ralph Lightfoot and Mrs.
Clarence McDowell returned
home last week from St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
Jack Hepburn is a patient in
University Hospital, London.
Mrs. W.R. Essery, Robbie and
Ruth Ann visited last week with
relatives in Drayton Plains,
Michigan and attended a party
honouring the former's sister,
Miss Arlene Newcombe upon her
retirement from Pontiac Motors.
Mr. & Mrs. Ray Shoebottom
and Mary accompanied by Mrs.
Edith Armitage of London visited
over the weekend with Mrs. RC.
Shoebottom and Dan Shoebottom
in Parry Sound and with Mr.
Shoebottom in the hospital.

Mrs. Harvey Hodgins, Glenn
Hodgins and Ray Cann played
while Mona Hodgins stepdanced.
Mrs. Cann gave an illustrated
talk on the metric system. Mrs.
Hodgins thanked Mr, & Mrs.
Cann and presented to them a gift
in appreciation.
Following the program Bob
and Dan Heywood played for a
time of social dancing.
Euchre
A euchre party was held in the
Community Hall, Monday
evening, sponsored by the
Women's Institute.
