Jets end season at home, play in Durham, Sunday The Ltican-Ilderton Jets have completed their home schedule in the Ontario, Hockey Association Continental Senior league for this year and have two games on the road. At the Ilderton arena, the Jets scored a 7-4 decision over the London Kings Sunday and last night, Wednesday they played hosts to the Michigan Patriots. Friday, the L-I club travels to. Woodstock and Sunday evening they will be in Durham to meet their arch rivals, the Huskies. Jets manager Don Urbshott reports a, league meeting will be held Monday night to settle playoff arrangements. In addition to playing a standout game in goal, Daer picked up assists on two of his team's goals. He was credited with assists on Jamie Robb's second period marker and the last goal of the game when Jim Pinnegar picked up the puck from the goalie and shot it the length of the ice into the empty London net. The Jets held a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period thanks to the two goal effort of Jacques Cousineau. The first score came on a power play with assists going to Steve Proctor and Jack Nairn. On the second successful 'Cousineau shot assists were picked up by Jamie Robb and defenceman Jim Pinnegar. The only goal of the middle session came at the 7.15 mark when Jamie Robb completed a three-way passing play started by goalie Lorne Daer, Bill Bourne was the middle man, The third period was only a little more than a minute old when the Kings hit the scoreboard. Mark Marcera was the goal getter. Then the Jets took over in a scoring way and found the range on three occasions to take a comfortable 6-1 lead. At 8,31, Jeff Craig after taking a pass from Terry Bourne hit Doug Galloway with a pass just inside the blueline and the veteran performer made no mistake with a good shot from the left side. Five minutes later, Tony Herlick hit the mark with a blazing slap shot from the blue- line. Assists went to Cousineau and Robb. After the 16 minute marker another Jets power play paid off with Jack Nairn hitting the net on a play started by Barry Baynham and Jacques Cousineau, The London club was able to mount a good scoring threat and notched three goals in less than two minutes near the end of the game. The marksmen were John Lutes, Hugh Smibert and Jim Walker. With the Kings attempting to get closer with a sixth attacker, Pinnegar shot the puck the length of the ice for the seventh Jet goal of the night. The shots on goal were very even with the Jets leading 38-37. Bill Bourne of the Jets and Bob Blackburn of London received fiveyninute penalties for fighting. The Centralia College Saints came up with two straight wins this week to take a two games to one lead in their South Huron Intermediate hockey league series with the Zurich Flyers. After Zurich won the first contest 6-5, the Saints bounced back to win 7-6 Thursday night and by a 10-6 count, Monday. The fourth game of the best-of- seven series will be played in Zurich Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the fifth game also in Zurich, Tuesday night. The Saints jumped into an early lead which at one time reached 7-2 Monday and were never headed as they moved in front in the series, Charlie Bauman and Bryce Bedore each scored three times to lead the College team attack. Scoring two goals apiece were Ben Brown and Doug Hum- phreys. Pat Bedard with a three goal effort was best for Zurich while Ron Desjardine scored twice and Ron Corriveau added a single marker. Bryce Bedore scored at 15. 39 of the third period Thursday night to give the Saints their 7-6 vic- tory. Doug Humphreys with his second goal of the night tied the score only a few moments earlier. Craig Schwindt was the other double scorer for CCAT. Others scoring in single fashion were Don Hewitt and Ian McLellan. Ron Desjardine with a two goal effort was best for Zurich. Adding single goals were Paul Corriveau, Jim Ramer, Rick Schilbe and Bob Farquhar. The outcome of the first game won by Zurich 6-5 was decided whenPatil Corriveau scored' 'IS fourth goal of the night with less than two minutes remaining in the third period.
