the school gym Tuesday evening,

It was mother and daughter
night and the young ladies
provided the program of singing,
recitations and humorous skits
and plays.
Lunch was served and Rev, Fr,
Mooney spoke to the ladies.

weeks holidays in Hawaii,

patient in, University Hospital,
London, after having eye surgery
last week.

in Canada Saturday morning at
the home of the assistant leader,

Eleven girls chose the
executive; president Cynthia

Robertson, secretary, Marilyn
Groenewegen; treasurer,
Susan Hodgins, press reporter,,
Janis Kestle.
The girls discussed future
cooking but came back to the
present with fortune cookies and
hot chocolate served by the
leaders.
Training Session
The annual division training
session and banquet for Guides,
Brownies and Rangers of the
rural north district was held in
Oxbow Public School, Ilderton,
Saturday, with about 120 leaders
in training.
Mrs. Pat Schmidt, and Mrs.
Jean Chappell worked with
Brownie leader, Mrs. Jean Kirk,
wood with the Golder& Mrs.
Shirley Fowles is the district
commissioner.

taken to St. Josephs Hospital,
where she underwent surgery.
She is progressing favourably.

The Dashwood I, 4-H Club,
entitled "Taking a Look at
Yourself" held their first meeting
at Dashwood Community Centre
Wednesday.
The leaders, Mrs. V, Bender
assisted by Mrs, A. Wolfe con-
ducted the meeting. In addition to
the usual members, Brenda
MacDonald, Julie Webb and
Cindy Beaver were welcomed
into the club,
Nomination of various offices
were as follows: president, Zelda
Inthout; vice-president, Mirium
Razenburg; secretary, Donna
Riddell; press reporter, Betty
Guenther.

was held February 12, at the
Dashwood community hall with
Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Ray
Rader as leaders. The 21 girls
attending broke into two groups

and a valentine lunch.
Several ladies were guests to
hear Pastor Frank Morgret deal
with the Christian's view on
abortion. Questionnaires , were
distributed and later discussed,

dealt with the business. The Altar
Guild reported 13 calls. The new
Guild is Mrs. Lorne Becker and
