Tuesday evening, the members
of Xi Gamma Nu met at the home
of Mrs. Bev Delbridge, Roll call
was answered with 'Your cure for
the blues'.
The program topic, 'How To
Get What You Want' was led by
Rollande Duffy and Bev.
Delbridge. Related questions
discussed included, 'Flow much
effort are you willing to put forth
to get what you want out of Life?'
and 'What will you sacrifice in
order to live your life the way you
want to live it?'
Refreshments were served by
Carol Arthur and Beth Jamieson, Try apple sauce-raisin pie
"It's our first crack at an old
house", Maryann says. "We've
alWayslived in new houses before
this. We like the character and
roominess of this old place." ,
The Tepps came here from
Guelph where Dr. Topp,
veterinarian, worked for six
years in a. diagnostic laboratory,
Previotisly they lived in Grim-
sby, and in North Carolina where
they met and married. Dr. Topp
presently teaches at the Animal
Health school at Centralia
College of Agriculture.
Mrs. Topp, an attractive,
bouncy young woman, is en-
thusiastic about living in Exeter,
much preferring it to a large city.
One of the things she likes most is
being able to walk every place
she wants to go. "When we were
in Guelph I had to jump in the car
just to get a loaf of bread,"
She loves tennis, likes to sew,
has done some ceramics and
taught crafts at the elementary
school level. She says she en-
joyed teaching and may get back
into it some day when the
children are grown,
The Topp children include
Cathy 8, Brian 6 and Rick 2.
The Topps have joined Exeter
United Church but have not as yet
got involved in any community
affairs.
"But after the house is finished
I'd love to start a presehool story-
hour with reading, music and
fun . , a time for children to be
away from mothers , . and visa
versa!"
Summers are spent at Miller
Lake in the Bruce Penisula
where the Topps have 'a shell of a
cottage up'. Their summer
project will be to get some more
work done on it, "It's a good
family experience," says
Maryann. -

disculss bill 275
F.W.T.A,O. Huron ,County
Association sponsored a meeting
for all Huron County teachers at
South Huron District High School
on Wednesday, Miss Florence
Henderson, executive secretary
for F.W.T.A.O. was guest
speaker.
She spoke on amendments to
Bill 275. She very capably in-
formed the teachers on the im-
plications of compulsory ar-
bitration and legislating working
conditions, etc. at the provincial
level.
She explained the dual route to
agreements proposed by O.T.F. -
voluntary arbitration and im-
posing sanctions in case of an
impasse in negotiations.
Miss Henderson said this route
is both acceptable and necessary
if teachers are to retain the
dignity and responsibility
whichis their right."
