The win accomplished at Utica, Michigan allowed the Jets to keep their grasp on third place in the league standings. The Jets see action on two occasions this weekend, both on home ice at the Ilderton arena. The New Hamburg Screaming Eagles will supply the opposition Friday night at 8.30 while the Preston Jesters will be in for a Sunday afternoon contest slated for 2 p.m. Despite being shorthanded to start the game in Michigan Monday night, the Jets scored the only two goals of the first period. They were registered by Dick Doughty on a three-way passing effort with Walt Parkinson and Jamie Robb and Jeff Craig on a low slap shot. Lack of manpower proved disastrous to the Jets in the first half of the second period as the Americans scored three times, Five additional Jet performers arrived halfway through the period to strengthen the forces. In quick succession Dick Doughty and Jamie Robb shot the Jets hack into a lead which they never relinquished again. Before the middle frame was over, Jeff Craig and Tom Hodgins hit the mark for the Lucan-Ilderton club to provide the necessary margin for victory, Minor teams deo ocked d• in first OMHA playoffs Canasta Tango; Elizabeth Vriese, Donna prow, .Leslie Campbell, .Sheila Elsenschink, Margaret Pym, Audrey Adkins and Elaine PM.
