WHO HAS HEARD FROM
THE GOOD TOOTH FAIRY?
What is the going "rate" these days for
the "good tooth fairy" to leave under the
pillow for a baby tooth? Nobody seems to have
a definite answer to this question. We havet
heard as highuisplatagioilarfatv,a,,A4it tooth and
down to as low as a nickel for a third or
fourth.
While we are not sure of the worth of
that old tooth we do know that the new per-
manent tooth is really priceless and should be
treated accordingly. It has to last lin ever-
increasing lifetime. We carry many products
that your dentist recommends for good dental
care.

Had the privilege of attending
a meeting with the Canadian
,Legion Area and District Public
Relation Officers over the
weekend in Toronto and they are
finally going to get down to the
grass roots level and hold
seminars at Zone level.
This means that instead of a
Branch P.R.O. having to travel a
greariliMance "• to are'*4re-
seminar, the seminars will be
coming to you at Zone level.
I am sure you will be hearing
from your District P.R,O. before
too long who will fill you in on the
details. In my estimation this is a
great step forward in Legion and
will let the Branch 11.11.0. know
what is expected of him, with the
result we will have a more in-
formed membership and a better
informed public.
By the way, Comrades, I notice
quite a few black membership
stickers on the membership
board, this of course means you
are in arrears of your 1974 Legion
Dues - Remember the color in the
Irish Town for 1974 is Green.
Support your branch and the
Legion by paying your 1974 dues,
now.
Comrade Smilin' Carl
Stuckless again reminds you the
ever &pular group known as the
People's Choice will be at Branch
540 on Saturday, February 16. Be
there and enjoy this entertaining
group.
What happened Bob - Bab
Young that is - your name was
drawn for the Pot 0' Gold last
Saturday and your name was not
registered. Let's see that will
make it worth about $90.00 this
Saturday - think I'd better drop
over to the lounge and make sure
that I am registered .myself,
By the way the draw for $100.00
in Branch 540 first annual cheque
draw will be held on Wednesday,
February 13. From then on until
the $1,000 draw in December each
$100 draw will be held on the
second Wednesday of each month
and every cheque holder will be
advised of the monthly winner.
While on the subject of Wed-
nesday, February 13 this is also
the date of your general meeting
which starts at 8.30 pm sharp and
'lasts for about an hour and a half
- make it a point to attend
Comrades, we need your support
and guidance - this is your
branch, make every effort to
attend and have your say Where it
will be heard.

April Aid,
The Income Tax help %/Stem.
Let's make it work for you.
As you know by now, we changed a lot of things last
year. We gave you a new return, a new Guide, several new
deductions and a few new rules. And quite honestly, we were
More than a little concerned about your reaction to it all.
(And very, very interested in your opinions.)
Well, now that we've had time to really look back at it
and assess it honestly, it appears that most taxpayers did
not seem to find it too difficult. The error rate did not ac-
celerate greatly or change drastically from former years.
Generally, most taxpayers seemed to handle their new
returns fairly well.
However, Income Tax will never be the easiest or most
enjoyable thing in anyone's life. And it will always present
problems in some areas, for some people. That's expected
and understandable.
So. What we want to do now is really work on those
problem areas, And the best way todo that is to work with
you, individually, on whatever part of Income Tax that causes
you difficulty.
And that's what April Aid is all about, It's a help system
and its primary objective is to ensure that whenever or
whatever you need help with, you cart get it, And know how
to get it.
I 1PICONIE And this it how it
tAX
G1110i works:
First, Your Guide is always the
best answer when you have a problem.
Read it, Follow it. It not only gives explana-
tions, but in many cases, examples of just
how to figure something out,
Together,
we can get it
