At the 11 a.m, service Rick
Thornton led in the singing and
Dr. Douglas Barton, Dean of
Academics at Christian View
Bible College Toronto, was the
guest speaker. His sermon was
based on Joel 3: 9-21, and he said
the day of Christ's coming will
be the day of God's deciding who
has served Him and who has
rejected Him, before He sets up
His Kingdom on this earth.
Tim Stutt led the singing at the
evening service and Dr, Barton
preached from the book of Jonah.
He stated that the big things
(typified by the big fish) in life
are used by God but the little
things are just as important
(typified by the little worm). God
cares about all things in our lives,
large and small.

At the United Church the junior
boys choir sang, Abide with Us,
by Bach, and the senior choir,
with Mrs. A. Jones taking the solo
parts, sang, There is a Balm.
Rev, Ewart Madden continued
his story of the healing of
Namaan stating that Israel often
wandered from God's way but
that He was always ready to
forgive them. He said God's love
is where you can get inside the
lives of those for whom you pray,
The little Hebrew slave girl was
in this situation. She could not
hold back her concern for her
master, knowing what God's will
was for her she said "I would that
my master could be with the
prophet Elisha". Mr. Madden
challenged the members of the
congregation to permit God to
"Touch" them and permit Him to
break down their pride and
receive His blessing.
