Tuesday night in Parkhill, Brinsley edged Parkhill 3.2 and Sunday night at the Exeter arena, they downed the previous league laders from Lieury 6-4 to take over the top spot. In oth'er games, Lieury swamped Shipka 17-1 and Parkhill won by default over Shipka. Ernie Schlegel of Lieury leads the league in the scoring department with 48 points, one more than his teammate Wayne Ropp. George Tryon of Brinsley is third with 33 points and Adrian Van der Vloet of Parkhill and Dave Collins of Brinsley are deadlocked with 30 points apiece, This Friday, Jan. 25 FROM 6 P.M. Ed NETHERCOTT, The January meeting of the Women's Institute met on Wednesday evening. The main discussion was the prices on meals and Mrs. E. Neil made the motion that the prices remain the same. Mrs. Irene Haugh sang a solo, Home Swept Home. Mrs. Gerald Dearing gave the motto, 'Whatever your lot be sure to build something on it.' Barb Pfaff sang Snowbird .and Mrs. Harvey Andrews gave a talk' on her bus trip to Franicenniuth. Michigan this summer. Mrs. Irene Haugh was in charge of the topic, The Metric System. Five groups ex- perimented with Weights and measures. The meeeting closed with everyone joining in song. Achievement Day Saturday was Achievement Day for the 4-H girls from the Creditor area. The many clubs put on skits, exhibits and demonstrations and all were interesting. Jane Pengilley, Home Economist presented the county honour awards to Laurie Becker, Maureen Hartman, Anne Wiendels and Wendy Beaver, Joanne Muller and Patricia Bender received their provincial honors. Men's Club The Crediton Men's. Club held their monthly dance Saturday evening. The theme was, Hard-time, and everyone enjoyed dancing to the music by the "Cavaliers". Many is planned for Easter. Mike Rathwell fired the only Parkhill goal of the game late in the first period and with only 47 seconds left Doug Osgood evened the count for Exeter as he con- verted a pass from Paul Shapton.
