hockey league play, Thursday
night at the Exeter arena, Newby
Tire edged the senior Hawks 5-4
and Les Pines scored a 7-3 victory
over Usborne township.
A goal by Mark Hookey with six
minutes remaining in the third
period gave Newby Tire their 5-4
win over the Hawks.
Ed Kerslake scored a pair of
markers to lead the Newby at-
tack while other single scores
were provided by Jim Jordan and
Randy Decker,
Brian Bestard spearheaded the
Hawks goal getters with two
successful shots. Adding lone
markers were Larry Mason and
Rick McDonald,
Scott Burton recorded a hat
trick as Les Pines skated to the 7-
3 win over Usborne. Accounting
for two goals was Paul Mason
while Tim Stover and Ron Moore
scored one goal apiece.
Two of the Usborne goals were
recorded by Allan Hern and the
odd counter came from the stick
of Bill Van Bergen.
