She is survived by her husband, Arnold, McGillivray Township and her son William. Also sur- viving are her father, John J. Jones, Exeter; and two brothers, Norval, Exeter and Lloyd, Usborne Twp. Services were held December 29 at the R.C. Dinney Funeral Home, Exeter with Rev. C. Westhaver officiating. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Parsons, Mahlon Ryckman, Harvey Tweddle, William Allison, Laverne Allison, and James Wright. Flower Bearers were Tom and Doug Parker, Thomas Abernathy, Red Deer, Alberta. Also surviving are 31 grand- children and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 2, 1974 at the McPherson Funeral Home, Teeswater, 'Interment was in the Teeswater Cemetery. PETER MAWSON Peter Mawson passed away in the War Memorial Children's Hospital, London, on Saturday, December 22, 1973 in his third year. He was the foster son of Harold and Audrey Mawson, Ailsa Craig. He is survived by Mrs. James (Patricia) Campbell, Stratford; Mrs. Walter (Eunice) James, Leamington; Mrs. Michael (Phyllis) Esmonde, Kitchener; Mrs. Aart (Nancy) Van Veld, Thornhill; Brenda, Heather, Steven and Scott at home. Funeral service was held at the M. Box and son Funeral Home, Parkhill on December 24, con- ducted by Rev. Frank Dalton. Interment was in Parkhill Cemetery. DELIA PEARL SCHMIDT Mrs. Delia Schmidt passed away December 26, 1973 at Bayfield in her 64th year, She was from Windsor. She was the wife of the late Frank Schmidt.She is survived by Frank, Calgary, John, Windsor; Mrs. Marjorie Silk, Windsor; Dorothy Schmidt, Windsor; Mrs. William (Lucille) Torode, Leamington and Mrs. Murray ( Audrey May) Hansen, Kingsville. Also surviving are two brothers, Ford and Leland Baker, Michigan; three. sisters, Mrs. Bernice Palmer, Florida; Mrs. Claris (Lucille) Moore, Michigan; Mrs. Fred (Shirley) Jenkins, Detroit. Funeral service was conducted from the Marcotte Funeral Home, Windsor on December 29. Interment was in the Windsor Grove Cemetery. ARNOLD E. (BUSTER) RAVELLE Arnold E. (Buster) Ravelle passed away in Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, January 1, 1974 in his 72nd year. He was from Grand Bend. He was the husband of the late Hazel Ravelle (Patterson). He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Valerie) Rose and Mrs, David (Marlene) Gibson both of London and a son, Mervin of St. Catharines, Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Hughes, Kitchener; and a brother, Welland Ravelle, Parkhill, Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 1974 at the T. Harry Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood, Rev. H.G. Dobson will officiate, Interment to be in Grand Bend Cemetery. • MARGARET PEARL HAWKSHAW Margaret Pearl Hawkshaw passed away in the Geri Care Nursing Home, Harriston, Sunday, December 30 1973. She was formerly of Brussels. She was the wife of the late Arthur Hawkshaw of Lucan and daughter of the late Philip and Matilda Ament of Brussels. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held January 3 at M.L, Watts Funeral Home, Brussels. Temporary entombment at Brussels Cemetery Chapel. JON CALVERT BECKLER Jon Calvert Beckler passed away at North Bay Civic Hospital, Monday, December 24, 1973 as the result of an accident. He was 21. He was the son of Betty and Cal and brother tof Leigh and Bruce. He is survived by grandparents, Mrs. Della Blowes, Port Elgin and Mr. & Mrs. Mose Beckler, Exeter. Funeral services were held December 26 at St, Andrew's United Church, North Bay. Interment was at Santuary Park, Port Elgin. EDITH ELLEN (GUSTIN) WILLSIE Edith Ellen (Gustin) Willsie passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Sunday, December 30, 1973 in her 78th year. She was the wife of Wilfred R. Willsie, Bosanquet. Surviving are George, Port Franks; Mrs. Howard (Mary) Elliott„ Thed- ford; Mrs. Milton (Pearl) Watson and Allen, both of Bosanquet. Also surviving are 17 grand- children and eight great-grand- children. Funeral services were con- ducted at the Gilpin Funeral Home, Thedford, January 2. Interment in Arkona Cemetery. BORDEN LEONARD GAISER Borden Leonard Gaiser passed away at the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich on Friday, December 28, 1973 in his 63rd year. He was formerly of Crediton. He was the brother of Mrs. Addileen (Addle) Morlock and Emery, both of Exeter; Mrs. Nola McEwen, Ailsa Craig. Services were held at the T. Harry Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood on December 31 with Rev. D. Warren officiating. Interment was in the Crediton Cemetery. CHESTER L. SMITH Chester L. Smith passed away in his 87th year, in the Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich on Sunday, December 30, 1973. He was the publisher and owner of the Zurich Herald. He was the husband of the late Mabel Emma Wilhelm and father of Mrs. Mae Cunningham, Willowdale, Ont, Also surviving are a brother, Clayton Smith, Zurich; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Westlake Funeral Home, Zurich on December 31 with Rev. Stapleton officiating. Interment was in the Emmanuel United Church Cemetery. THOMAS C. ALLEN Thomas C. Marys, cousin of Mrs. Wm, Simpson celebrated her eightieth birthday on Sunday, Relatives and friends spent an enjoyable time with Mrs. Hardy and renewed old acquaintances. Christmas eve Mrs. A. Simpson entertained Mr. & Mrs. William Simpson and Mr. & Mrs. Murray Simpson. Mr, & Mrs. Keith Simpson and David held Christmas for the William Simpson family. Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Scotts' family were home for celebrations Monday Dec. 24th. Mr, & Mrs. Maurice Hetlrick of Kirkland Lake spent Christmas with the latter's mother Mrs. Agnes Hornell. All enjoyed Christmas dinner with Mr. & Mrs, Art Hodgins and family. Boxing Day visitors with the Plan course on first aid Under the auspices of Si. John Ambulance, a Standard first aid class will be held in the South Huron High School, Exeter, room 116. This class is for men and women and will start at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday January 3. The class will continue every Thursday night for seven weeks followed by an oral and practical examination in First Aid on the eighth night. There is an enrollment fee of $12.50 per person, Where warranted, and authorized by the employer, a candidate may present the W.C.B. firm number which identifies .his employer with the Workmen's Com- pensation Board in place of the regular fee of $12.50. Each candidate will receive a text book and practice bandages. Successful candidates will receive the St. John Ambulance standard first aid certificate. The award gained from this class is the certificate required to comply with the regulations of the Workmen's Compensation Board. "What a coincidence!
