There were two days left till
Christmas and Jon still had not
gotten his mom a gift: His dad
had died last April, and this
would be their first Christmas
without him, Jon had a job at the
supermarket and the pay was
just enough to keep the family
fed.
He had saved up $3.79 so far,
but the gift he wanted to get for
his mom cost $5.00. It was a pair
of leather gloves, because the
ones she had now were full of
holes. She couldn't get herself a

At Christmas time,
So long ago,
A brilliant star,
There seemed to glow,
O'er the baby king,
Jesus his name,
That all the world,
Might know of his fame.
Born of the virgin,
Mary so sweet,
And Joseph her husband,
Who's poor tender feet,
Led into Bethlehem,
The little brown ass,
Who carried dear Mary,
To the inn but alas,
There was no room,
For which they could pay,
So in a tiny stable,
They had to stay,
There the babe was born,
And shepherds and kings,
Brought him gifts of gold,
To the poorest things.
But no one did care,
For the greatest of all,
Was the gift of the babe,
from God to us all.

"Rudolph!" yelled Santa come
back with. that red cloth bag But
Rudolph kept running farther
away.
Santa jumped into the sleigh
while the elves hitched up the
other seven reindeer to the
sleigh. Then he called out the
words and they rose into the air,
By now Rudolph was in Exeter,
he came to a noisy store 'and
walked in. There stood Santa and
the seven other reindeer. Later
on Santa left for the northpole.
When they got back Mrs. Claus
had an apple pie ready for rudol-
ph. He had lost Santa's prize bag
but Santa still loved him best of

money to feed and clothe the
children. $1.21 was all he needed
and yet where could he get it?
He got $5.00 per week, but $4.00
of that went to looking after the
children. Where could he find the
other 21 cents. Perhaps he would
get a Christmas bonus, but he
doubted it very much, because
his boss was very mean.
One day left til Christmas! The
supermarket closed at 6:00 and
the department stores closed at
9:00. That left him three hours to
find 21 cents someplace, and buy •
her present. It was 8:00 and then
he saw it! A quarter! lying in the
snow, on the sidewalk. He
snatched it up and rushed to the
store. It would be a Merry
Christmas after all, because now
he had something to give.

Precious Blood
A star shone brightly, in the sky,
Humble shepherds wondered
why
In a lowly stable, there He lay,
Jesus Christ asleep on the hay.
Three kings from the east came
to see,
The tiny, joyful, family
The mother was happy the father
was proud,
And as the child lay there, along
came a crowd.

Trying not to make a peep
The children all filled with joy,
Trying to find the very best toy.
They find the -things that they

One found a pretty little bike.
One found a big candy-cane,
Another found a cho-cho train.

Christmas is fun
Christmas is love
Christmas is sharing
And Everyone Caring
In the morning
play, play, play
After that
Gay, Gay, Gay
In the night
pray, pray, pray
After that,
Holidays.
Would sleep ever come to the
children this night
So morning would come faster to
their happy delight.
While, far, far away on this very
same night,
Sat a small lonely girl with no joy
in sight.
No mother, nofathera no laughter,
no smiles.
Just sad brown eyes of this
starving young child,
ewildered and frightened and
wondering why
The love she needed "she" was
denied
The ground was so cold, her
clothes were all torn
A refugee left from that terrible
war,
She felt a flow of warm air and a
flicker of light
Coming closer to her straight
through the night,
She saw a bright light from
heaven above.
And heard angels sing with "Oh"
such love,
Arms held her close and to
heaven she went
With the wonderful angels whom
God had sent
There are still children cold,
hungry, and scared
And only because some men,
have not cared.
So children be thankful for
presents and love,
Get down on your knees and
thank God above.
A mystery
at Christmas
By ANNE WARDEN
Grade 6 SCS
On the night before Christmas
and all throgh the house there
was a lot of racket and I could not
sleep. I wanted a drink of water
so I , went down to get it.
When I was half way down the
stairs I heard a loud bang! I was
so scared that I screamed, and
down came daddy and mommy
too. Daddy looked up the chim-
mey but there was not a thing, I
looked out the window and not a
thing.
So we all went to bed. When
everyone was asleep I heard it
again. I went downstairs to see
what it was, and there was a
ghost of Stanta Claus.
