'Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the town
All the shoppers were rushing
madly around
The trees by the chimney
The presents in the sleigh
Then Santa Claus was on his way,
For Doug a toy soldier,
And Darlene a toy doll,
But mom & dad got the best deal
of all
A new little horse and a load of

And to top it all a brand new

A look of surprise came upon

They knew the energy, wasn't

But they didn't think it could be

They knew that Santa was using
his head,
And really thinking far ahead!

Christmas means to me
A frosty winter night
Maybe even a snow ball fight
To shop for Christmas gifts

Christmas means to me
To sit around Christmas tree with

To open your presents you

Christmas is a time of hope and
cheer
To know that New Year's will
soon be here.

The story about
Santa getting fat
By ELAINE COOMBS AND
SANDY SNELL By MESTON DEARING
Huron Centennial ••- Stephen Central
Long, long ago Santa was'
skinny. "Well getting on witlrour
story." One snowy Christmas
Eve Santa got his Dancer and
Prancer and his other reindeer.
He headed out for his long night's
journey.
Finally he was at his last
house, he slid down the chimney
and suddenly knew it was Mrs.
Scotus house. When he was
nearing the Christmas tree he
became very hungry. "Wouldn't
you be very hungry if you had to
look at all of those candy canes on
the trees?
Then he turned around and
came closer and closer to the
stove where the turkey lay. Santa
looked at the brown turkey when
he said to himself ."what a
turkey"! So he went straight to
his work filled all his stomach
and turned and went up the
chimney.
Guess who came out the door
"Mrs. Scott. He said "Hi" and
then said good-bye and took off up
the chimney and away he flew
with his reindeer and that's how
Santa got fat.
his father be so mean? He
wandered far away from the
camp. Eventually, he came apon
a small town. Hoping there would
be a place to stay the night, Pablo
sauntered into the village, He
was walking through the lonely
streets when he stopped dead.
Kneeling down in front of a
cave stable were his brothers
and his father. Pablo walked over
and knelt beside his family. In the
stable was a man, a woman, and
lying in a manger, a tiny baby.
"What's going on?" Pablo
questioned his father.
"It's the Savior," his father
replied. "Just after you left, a
band of angels came to us and
told us about the baby and where
we could find him."
His father had told Pablo many
times about the coming of the
Savior, but Pablo had pictured
him as a brave, gallant warrior.
"He's very beautiful," Pablo
whispered.
His father looked at Pablo with
loving eyes.
"Yes Pablo, he is" His father
