Donald Kernick, Sunday School superintendent, was chairman for the program consisting of piano solos, piano duets, ballet numbers, and Christmas plays, was much enjoyed. Santa Claus arrived and gifts and bags of candy were handed out from under a gaily decorated tree. Saturday evening 'In Search of Christmas' a program of plays, and music will be, performed by the Explorers, Hi-C and Young People's groups at Elimville United Church. Proceeds will be sent to the Dashwood Rehabilitation Workshop. There will be a Christmas Eve candlelight communion service; of both congregations at Elim- ville at 8,30 p.m. A New Year's Family Party at Thames Road will be held at Thames Road Church. Please leave your name at the church this week if you plan to attend. Personals Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde visited with Mr. William Thomson at the Queensway Nursing Home Hensall, also with Mrs. Milton Sleamon who is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Sunday. Twenty seven adults attended Saturday guests with Mrs. Rd. Dickins Exeter and attended the Santa Claus Parade. Julie and Jamie Mugford were weekend guests with Ian and Brenda Carroll. Gift Ideas ... FID NETHERCOTT Sunday was the big day when Santa arrived at the Crediton Community Centre, All the area children enjoyed listening to and Singing the familiar Christmas songs. ' Program consisted of Christmas songs by the Heywood Brothers and two films. When Santa arrived he chatted with each child, and as the children left they received a bag of candy. Personals Thursday evening termed out to be an exciting one for Mrs. Marion Dykeman as she won the jackpot at Bingo. Many turkeys were won by several lucky people. Rev. Warren conducted. service in the Bluewater Rest home, Sunday evening. The December meeting of the Elimville Women's Institute was held at the church Wednesday afternoon with a Christmas theme, Mrs, Ross • Skinner was in charge of the program. Mrs. Allen Johns and Mrs. Lome Johns read Christmas poems. Mrs. Philip Hern read the Christmas scripture while Mrs. Skinner gave a Christmas story. Mrs. Howard Pym sang a solo, 0 Holy Night, A demonstration of Christmas parcels, Phentex gifts and candles was given by Mrs. D. Skinner, Mrs. Wm Routly and Mrs, Allen Johns, Roll call was an exchange of mystery pal gifts. Several Christmas greetings received from other W,I's. Achievement Day for the next 4-1I Club "A World of Food in Canada" will be in Exeter on January 12th. A euchre party will be held at the hall in January with group A in charge, Miss Ruth Skinner gave the Hospital report and Mrs. Gower gave the treasurer's report. Lunch was served at the close. HEBER DAVIS Karl Jeffries returned home recently from St. Joseph's Hospital London where he spent four weeks, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee were their dinner guests the night he came home. Rev. R. Savary was in charge of service at St. Patrick's church Sunday. The contemporary Eucharist Service, was followed. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs at- tended the Christmas staff party for the Middlesex-London Health Unit at Wonderland, Thursday evening. and Saturday they were guests at the Lucan-Biddulph Fire Department dinner and dance at the Shillelagh Lucan.
