J. Simpson, Fourteen ladies answered the sing, say or pay roll call. The president Mrs. W. Scott chaired the meeting. Gifts were brought for the Cancer Cupboard. Mrs. P. Groenewegen was in charge of the program. She read about traditions of Christmas. Lucille Blake wrote and read a Christmas ' poem, Christmas today and , yesterday. Mrs. N. Hardy read What is Christmas? Contest, Christmas Nuts to Crack was won by Mrs. R. Neil, Mrs. K. O'Neil gave a paper, My Christmas wish. Mrs. R. Neil, Mrs. R. Wor- thington assisted the hostess to serve lunch. January meeting will be at the home of Mrs. N. Hardy, Personals Mrs, J. THOMAS HERN Zion West United Church U.C.W. held their Christmas meeting last Wednesday evening. The worship service entitled The Angels Message, was ably presented by Mrs. Ray Jaques and Mrs. Clifton Jaques. A skit The Visited Planet, with illustration was given by Mrs. Earl French, Mrs. Gerald Kern, and Mrs. Clifton Jaques. A candle lighting installation service for the 1974 officers was conducted by Mrs. Robert Hern after which the business was discussed and reports were given. Gilbert in Alma, Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. W. Scott and Brenda visited with Mrs. Bertha Hendrie in Chatham, Sunday. Mrs. Ruby Amies had the misfortune to fall and sprain her ankle. She was X-rayed at University Hospital, bandaged and released, Mrs. Amies is secretary of the TOPs club in Lucan and each morning several members of TOPS exercise at her MT.
