ROSS SKINNER ELIMVILLE The November meeting of the Elimville U.C.W. was held Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Ross Skinner and Mrs. Jackson Woods were in charge of the program. Mrs. Woods read the scripture and Mrs. Ross Skinner gave the meditation and prayer. A skit "Tell Me Dr," was presented by Mrs. Howard Pym, Mrs. Lorne Johns, Mrs. John Batten, Mrs. Gilbert Johns,Mrs. Philip Hern, Mrs. Floyd Cooper and Mrs. Ross Skinner. Mrs. Skinner gave the highlights of the year's programs and activities. Mrs. Batten was in charge of the business. Mrs. Emerson Penhale read the newly nominated Slate of Officers. Roll By MRS. HAROLD DAVIS Mrs, Wm. J. Blackler visited two days this week with Mrs. Campbell in Hamilton. Mrs. Annie O'Ligney of St. Marys and Mr. & Mrs. Ray 1-Paynter,,,Ann .Marie and .,David were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Paynter. Maureen Blackler, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ken Blackler, is a patient in University Hospital at time of writing. Mr. & Mrs. Don Barber of Collingwood spent the weekend with Mrs. George Hall and Mr. & Mrs. John McCormick. Mr. & Mrs. Art Julian of Utica Michigan spent a few days last week with Mr. & Mrs. Miller McCurdy and Mr. & Mrs. Harold Davis. Call was a product of India. The president asked everyone to save their old nylons for Bluewater Nursing home. Mrs, Barry Robinson invited the U,C.W. members to the manse for the Christmas meeting. A Thank You card was received from Harold Bell. Everyone is to bring their Baby Picture to the December meeting. Church calendars will be sold. Mrs. Batten gave the highlights of Presbyterial held at Grand Bend. A dainty lunch was served at the close with Mrs. Squire Herdman in charge. 4-H The Elimville Club No. 1 held their meeting as a social at Zion United Church. Monday. A program was enjoyed and Alvin Pym of Exeter showed pictures of Australia. .A foreign luncheon was served following in the Sunday School rooms. Elimville Club No. 2 held their meeting as a supper and euchre party at Elimville hall, Monday night. The supper consisted of the casseroles and dishes from other countries which the girls learned in the club. "A World of Food in Canada." Personals Mr. & Mrs. Don Willcox and family of Kitchener visited, Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Wm, Routly. Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Johns and Larry, Mrs. Harold Bell visited on Sunday with Harold Bell at University Hospital and were dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Chas Cassar of London. Mr. & Mrs. Robt, Coates, Judith and Cathy of Exeter visited on Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Squire Herdman. fiy MISS ELLA MQR LOCK CREDITON The canvass for the Ontario Bible Society, organized by Rev. Armin Schlenker, has been completed. Canvassers were Mrs. Peter Martin, Mrs, Douglas Warren, Mrs. Ken Campbell, Mrs. Alvin Finkbeiner, Mary Ellen and Rev. Schlenker, Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk, Mrs. Ervin Ratz, Mrs. Ross Pickering. The concessions and side roads from Shipka to Highway 4 were covered, with contributions totalling $316.20. Christmas Party Wednesday evening in the Community Hall there was a Christmas party hosted by the Township of Stephen for all employees, Council members and village trustees. Various members of the Council spoke briefly; Steve Dundas played his violin and Cecil Desjardine sang, with Paul Dietrich ac- companying him on the piano. Presentations were made to Nola Faist and Cliff Kenney, retiring members of the staff. Cecil Desjardine presented an engraved silver tray to Miss Faist, Joe Dietrich a barometer to Cliff Kenney. Congregational Meeting A congregational meeting was held in Zion United Church Friday evening, Following a potluck supper Gordon Ratz read the minutes, 13111 Schwartz the report of the Nominating Com- mittee and Earl Neil the proposed budget. Mrs. Otto Walker has arrived home from Victoria Hospital, London. Mrs, Grace Scott spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Donald ,Seett, Seaforth. Miss Ruth• Ann Coleman, Kitchener, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Coleman. Miss Heather McPhail graduated recently from the Hamilton and District School of Medical Technology, Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross McPhail at- tended the graduation exercises in Hamilton, Last week Heather received word that she had successfully passed her examinations and is now a registered technologist (R.T.). Explorers, generously assisted by members of the U.C.W. and their mothers, held a highly successful bazar and tea, realizing about $325 for their organization. Mrs. Fred Bowers won the teddy bear in the draw conducted at Bushfield's General Store, The draw realized $23.25. Sunday afternoon Mrs. Alvin Finkbeiner, Rev. 4 Mrs, Armin Schlenker and Mary Ellen at- tended the ordination service for Jerry Vandeworp, son-in-law of Mrs. Finkbeiner, at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener.
