Court Whist was played with Susan Fischer high and Jayne Hayter, low. 4-H girls club No. 1 with their leaders, Mrs. Gordon Bender and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe, also en- tertained their mothers at a smorgasbord dinner of many foreign dishes, Monday, December 3. Following the dinner, Mrs. Delmar Miller demonstrated icing cakes. A draw for a Santa Claus cake was won by Mary Lou Grigg. Mrs. Bender was also presented a cake. Christmas Program Calvary United church held their Christmas program Sunday evening with the theme, "The Gifts of Christmas followed by a social hour for pupils, teachers, parents and friends. The reason for having it so early was that the Advent season might be celebrated more fully in the church and Sunday School. Persona Is Ervin Eckstein is very grateful to the response of the residents of Dashwood and surrounding area in the canvass for the Canadian Bible Society by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller and himself. A total of $395.00 was collected. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lobb and family, Clinton, were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love. Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Bachert, St. Catharines, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller. Mrs. Joe Caswell, London, Mrs. Leonard Bender, Kitchener, and Mrs. Fred Cunnington, Centralia, were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bender and family. Hibbert canvass shows increase Hibbert Township, with Mrs. Alex Miller as chairman, has completed a very successful Ability Fund Campaign and forwarded $446.90 to Miss Dorothy Clarke, Stratford, campaign secretary for Perth County. Last year's contributions amounted to $380.25, showing an increase of $66.65 this year.
