Huron County Poultry, Pigeon
and Pet Stock Association held
another successful show recently
in the Legion Hall in Clinton, an
ideal spot for a show, and some of
the best birds in the county were
on exhibition.
Bill Schrum, Smithville, Ont.
judged the Standard and Bantam
classes and he was impressed
with the quality of birds shown.
Ken Tremaine from Preston had
the honor of judging the pigeon
classes and he too handled some
birds of excellent quality.
Association rosette for
champion standard in the show
went to a White Leghorn Cockerel
owned by Clifford Pepper, and
this bird also received the
Tieman special for the best large
fowl, and the Exeter Co. Op.
special forthe bestMediterranean
breed.
The association * rosette for
reserve champion was won by
Harvey Daniel on a Columbian
Rock Pullet. This pullet also won
the special donated by Howard
Bernard B.P. agent at Brussels;
the Daniel special for best Parti-
coloured and the McIntosh feed
mill at Molesworth special for the
best American breed.
The special donated by Bert
Mills, Goderich went to Cliff
Pepper for best exhibit large fowl
on his Buff Orping tons.
The association rosette for
champion Bantam went to Bert
Mills on a Dark Cornish Pullet. It
also won the Daniel special for
best Parti-Colour and the special
donated by the Old Mill, Blyth for
best clean-legged bantam.
Rosette for reserve champion
was won by George Tieman on a
White Leghorn Pullet,
Molesworth Cheese Factory
special went to Earl Becker for
best feather-legged bantam on a
White Cochin Cock.
The Pepper special went to
George Tiernan for best exhibit in
Bantams on White Wyandottes.
Association rosette for
champion pigeon to Emery
Baechler on a white fantail hen.
Rosette for reserve champion to
a White Tumbler Cock exhibited
by Ron Richey.
The Bob Denomme Trophy for
best fantail went to Emery
Baechler and he also won the
Pepper special for best exhibit of
pigeons and the Greens' Meat
Market, Wingham special for the
best young bird on a white fan-
tail.
Bartliffs Bakery, Clinton
special for best Homer showpen
went to Walter Baechler, and the
Daniel special for best Roller to
Walter Baechler.
Specials in junior section were

Richey who also won the special

Mr. & Mrs. J. Robertson and
three of their four 'children
celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary by entertaining
friends and neighbours. The
highlight of the evening was a
phone call from their eldest son
George who is studying at
Briarcrest College in Saskat-
chewan. "

Mrs, Emily Kestle, Exeter,
David Hall and Mr. & Mrs. Clare
Cook, Detroit called on Mr. &
Mrs. D, Kestle along with Mr. &
Mrs. A. Charron and Susan and
Tom Ward, Windsor who were
weekend guests. They attended
the Kestle-McGinnes wedding on
Saturday in London.
Mr. & Mrs. Don Oatman,
Ilamilton and Mrs. Wood, London
were Sunday visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. D. Kestle.
Mr. & Mrs. Otto Darling visited
with Mr. & Mrs. A. Lewis Sunday.
The Hans Rosch family visited
with friends in Aurora and
Toronto,
Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Simpson and
family visited Mr, & Mrs. W.
Simpson Friday.
Mrs. Ed Armstrong's mother,
Mrs. E. Sullivan passed away in
St. Joseph's hospital and was
buried in Ingersoll.
Mr. & Mrs. Clare Paton have
been working hard making ex-
tensive alterations on their
dwelling. They are extending the
back part to make a double
garage.
At the Sunday service at St.
James Church Clandeboye
several prayer books were
dedicated by Rev. John Hofland
in memory of Mrs. Ehiily Tomes.
The junior choir lead by Mrs.
Alan Hill rendered an ap-
propriate anthem,

clock seven days a week, are now
being provided for central and
eastern Ontario, to complement a
service introduced for southern
counties last spring.
The Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food, in
cooperation with the Toronto and
Montreal weather offices and the
Ontario Ministry of Tran-
sportation and Communications,
prepare and record bulletins
which may be heard by dialing a
telephone number. The program
is updated three times a day, at
7:15 a.m., 12:05 and 4:30 p.m.
Radio stations can receive the
reports free of charge, for
broadcast to their audiences.
The number to call is (416) 924-
9606 for Area 1, including Essex,
Kent, Lambton, Middlesex,
Elgin, Oxford, Norfolk, Brant,
and Wentworth counties; and
Area 2, including Huron, Perth,
Waterloo, Wellington, Halton,
Peel, Yor, Bruce, Grey, Duf-
ferin and Simcoe.

Charlie Wilson is settled in his
new home in the village.
Mr. & Mrs. Peter Groenewegen
are having a well drilled 360 feet
into the ground, The drillers say
this is the deepest well they have
drilled.
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Carter and
Myrna have taken up residence in
Exeter.
Mrs. Alex Macintosh who has
been in St. Josephs Hospital is
now recuperating at the home of
her daughter and son-in-law in
New Hamburg.
Mrs. Gerald Millson received
word that her aunt, Mrs. B, King
had passed away & Mrs. Millson
was in Windsor Tuesday at-
tending the funeral.

The block printing course is
almost complete and the
achievement day for this area is
to be in Parkhill December 15.
The "Printin' Pals" met at
Janis Kestle's home prepared to
finish any work they had to do.
Next Saturday will be the wind-
up and books must be handed in
before December 6.
The no. 1 Clandeboye club, the
"Block Heads" met Thursday at
Mrs. Bruce Henry's, their leader
to complete their record books
and this Saturday will wind up
any loose ends.
