Three area residents won $900
each when they split the first
prize in the recent car draw held
by the Grand Bend Order of the
Alhambra.
Top prize was a 1974 car, but the
three decided to divide the $2,700
cash in lieu of drawing further.
Winning were Leo Masse and
Maureen Walker, both of Grand
Bend, and D, Howell of Thedford.
In early draws in the raffle, Lee
VanDongen, Grand Bend, won
$100 and Ben Wiendels, also of the
resort, won $50.

Wagner wore a 19 centimeter
shoe. Larry Black weighed
nearly 105 kilograms. John
Siertsema drove 40 kilometres to
get from his home to Stephen
School. Bill Millson can plow 1.5
hectares per hour with his 5
furrow 40 centimetre bottom
plow.
The one hundred and twenty
teachers devoured 33 kilograms
of donuts and drank 80 litres of
coffee.

We had just moveu to a new
home, and I was having a
difficult time trying to select a
shower curtain to match the tile
in our bathroom. Since my
toothbrush was the exact shade I
had in mind, I began to carry it
with me to use as a color guide.
In one shop, the clerk became
quite annoyed with me as I
repeatedly turned down various
curtains because they didn't
match my toothbrush. Finally,
in exasperation, he said, "Lady,
why don't you just buy a new
toothbrush?"
