J., TEMPLEMAN Classes began last week on a home ,economics course "more ideas for sewing knits" sponsored by the Staffa worrier's institute. Mrs. Charles Douglas and Mrs. John Wallace are the instructors and 20 ladies have registered for the course. Classes are held Monday afternoons at the township hall, A large crowd attended the reception for Mr. & Mrs. Ron Miller held in Staffa hail on Friday evening. The address was read by Craig Kerslake and a presentation of a gift of money was made by Brian Dow. Richard Templeman spent the weekend with Ross Bowman, Fullarton. Ricky Thompson, Kinburn is staying with his grandparents,Mr. & Mrs. Carter Kerslake while his mother is a patient in. University Hospital, London, Visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Clifton Miller and Paul on Sunday were Mr, & Mrs, Will Sillery, Exeter, and Bonnie Miller, Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. John Templeman visited Sunday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Mayer, Farquhar. Mr. & Mrs, Lloyd Miller, visited Sunday with Mr, & Mrs. Will Miller, Mitchell. Cubs, scouts organized came 11th in a class of 102 en- tries. Kathy Douglas visited in Toronto with her cousins, Rev, & Mrs. Robert Mackie. Mr, & Mrs. Mervin Dow spent the weekend in Kitchener with Mr. & Mrs. William Worthington. Cromarty. Mrs. C. Douglas, Kathy and George, left Thursday for Toronto where they attended the Royal Winter Fair, On Friday George had the honor of showing his Angus-Charolais 4-H calf in the Queen's Guineas class, and celebrate were their attendants of 45 years ago, Mr. & Mrs. Milton Woodburn. Best wishes are extended to Everett Mellin and Shirley Stanners who were married Saturday in Moorefield United Church. Everett is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Orval Mellin. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. & Mrs. Wm. T. Bullock, owing to the death of Mrs. Bullock's sister, Mrs. Kenneth Morley of West Williams, and to Mr. & Mrs. Jan Lagerwerf whose step-father George C. Harrison passed away in St. Mary's Hospital, London. Mr, & Mrs. Selbourne English were Saturday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Russell Pollock, London. Sunday visitors with the Curts' here were Mr. & Mrs. Bob Keyes, Grand Bend. Mrs. Lillie Moore and ladyfriend, Detroit and Mrs. Eva Bariteau, Grand Bend were Saturday evening visitors with Mrs. Vera Brophey. Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Woodburn and Karen were guests of Mrs. Tillie Sheldon, Kincardine Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Graham Eagleson visited Sunday evening with Mr, & Mrs. Paul Swartzentruber and Derek, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Southcott and girls arrived from Halifax for a weekend visit with Mrs. South- cott's mother Mrs. Harold McDonald and are now living in Chatham. ROBERT LAING CROMARTY A meeting of the parents of First Cromarty Boy Scouts and Wolf Cubs was held Tuesday to organize for the 1973-74 season. Rev. Jarvis presided for the meeting. The secretary, Mrs, Ross Riley, and the treasurer, Mrs. Reg, Finlayson, were re- appointed, with the chairman to be elected by the group com- mittee at a later date. For the remainder of 1973 Scouts and Cubs will meet on alternate Monday nights. A large crowd gathered at Staffa Hall Friday for the reception for Mr. & Mrs, Ronald Miller, Cromarty, Craig Ker- slake read the address and Brian Dow made the presentation.
