HEBER DAVIS SAINTSBURY Friday evening Mr. & Mrs. Earl Greenlee were honoured by their family, Mr. & Mrs. Larry Greenlee and Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Greenlee on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance at Lucan Memorial arena. About 200 relatives and friends attended. The guests were welcomed by Leslie; Earl and Marguerite were called to the front and their niece, Heather gave a reading which she com- posed. The honored couple many gifts and cards. Personals Many from this community attended the funeral of Lorne Barker from the Haskett Funeral home Saturday. Church at St. Patrick's was cancelled owing to Harvest Thanksgiving service at St. Pauls, Kirkton. Mr. & Mrs. Tom Kooy held an auction sale last Wednesday and moved into their new home in Centralia Saturday. Thedford Athletic association had a very successful walkathon with fine weather and 80 par- ticipants. By MRS. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD The agriculture and Canadian industries group was in charge of the October meeting of the WI Tuesday with Mrs. John Rader, convener. It was guest night and over 100 ladies were in at- tendance from all the institutes of South Huron. President Mrs. Gordon Bender, welcomed the ladies and was in charge of a brief business meeting. The Historical Society meets in Zurich October 17. Mrs. Rader was chairlady for the program. Mrs. Bob Hoffman sang several numbers; the Masse family played instrumentals; and guest speaker, Jack Riddell MPP for Huron spoke on "Women and the Labour Force". Mrs. Gerald Mason received a gift for finding the "mysterious lady", Mrs. Charles Snell. Mrs. Tom Hern, Elimville W.I. had the lucky chair. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Albert Miller vacationed in Detroit with Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Koessel and family, Mr. & Mrs. Dave Schultz and family and Mrs. Nora Koessel. The'4th meeting of club no. 2 4- H girls was held recently with the president, Jayne Hayter in charge, A letter from the home economist was read telling plans for achievement day. "Europeans discovering the new world" was the topic and an original German recipe for potato pancakes was tried with German tea squares. The occasion also marked the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Slezak.
