Norm Whiting, Auctioneer, Phone 235-1964 Former Exeter cetincillor Kett Ottewell will be advised by letter that a sanitary sewer hookup made for his new home on Waterloo St. is considered illegal by council. The matter came up for discussion at Monday night's meeting when it was learned that Ottewell had failed to have an inspection made of the sewer connection he made into a service at his former residence on Mill St. Members of council noted that. Ottewell had helped formulate the regulations requiring sanitary sewer inspections when he was a member of council and decided he should be required to have such an inspection, "I know he wouldn't want it any other way," commented Coun- cillor Bruce Shaw. After the motion authorizing the inspection was made, Mayor Jack Delbridge explained that the sewer connection made by Ottewell would have to be un- covered to be inspected. Councillor Ben Hoogenboem suggested it was a little late to require the inspection if it had to be dug up, but he gained no support for that contention, "If anyone knew an inspection was required, Mr. Ottewell should have, because he designed the bylaw;' noted Councillor Tom MacMillan, drains committee chairman. Later in the meeting, the matter was broached again when 24 Tenders Wanted DEPAIrrian OF PUBLIC WORKS OF CANADA ONTARIO REGION TENPERS SEALED TENDERS addressed to the Chief Financial Adinitli- strative Services.
