Eldon Allen, Mrs. McKibbin is
the former Olive Allen, a
daughter of the late Benjamin
Allen who was born on the Allen
farm at Cromarty 104 years ago.
He married Jennie Brooks of
Staffa, and homesteaded in the
Westlock district of Alberta,
Mrs. McKibbin is remaining
with the Aliens for a month and
visiting friends and relatives in
the district, At the same home
have been Mr. & Mrs. Ted
Taylor, Hensall, Mr. & Mrs,
Lloyd Allen, Mr. & Mrs. Russell
Mulligan, Mount Pleasant, and
Mrs. Grace Found, Brantford.

CROMARTY
Cromarty Ladies' Aid met at
the home of the secretary, Mrs.
John Templeman with Mrs. John
Miller presiding. The meeting
opened with a reading followed
by a hymn written by an Indian
prince, The scripture was read by
Mrs, Jim Miller, followed by
prayer' by Mrs, Mervin Dow.
Eight members answered the
roll call by showing a treasured
keepsake. During the business
there was some discussion
regarding the purchase of a
magna-jector for use by the
Sunday School and other church
organizations,
Mary Jane Tetnpleman en-
tertained with a piano solo.
Sports
In the final game of the
Usborne-Hibbert playoffs,
Thames Road defeated Hibbert
South by a score of 10-2 and took
home the Bantam Boys' trophy.
The local team and their coaches,
Cliff Marsden and Jim Miller, are
to be congratulated on the ex-
cellent showing they made
throughout the playoffs.
After winning two games each
in their playoffs for the men's
slow pitch championship,

attended the dance Friday in
Dashwood Community hall to
honor Mr. & Mrs. Frank Regier's
25th wedding anniversary.
Earl Stebbins was moved by
ambulance from South Huron
Hospital to Victoria Hospital,
London recently.
The junior girls ball team
enjoyed a party Friday at the
home of Michelle Hogan to finish
the season.
Many relatives and friends
motored to Kincardine last
Wednesday to attend a bridal
shower to honor Carol Anne
Desjardine.
Elizabeth Van Osch won an
Ontario scholarship award last
June and has registered for the
coming year at the University of
Guelph.
Michael Hogan has registered
for a four-year course at the
University of Guelph.
Monday a bridal shower was
held to honor Cathy McKeever, a
late September bride. Mrs. Pat
McCann directed the program.
Mary Angela Rutten welcomed
the guests and read the address.
Cathy's three bridesmaids
assisted her in opening the many
gifts.
