Classes begin soon—Get the Learning Habit! 38c Exeter council still opposes the new food premises bylaw being touted by the Huron County Health Unit, but did agree this week to advise the unit when any building permits are issued to food outlets, Two weeks ago, council discussed the proposed bylaw and decided to write MOH, Dr, Frank Mills to get further clarification. He wrote back this week ad- vising the bylaw was being requested so the unit would have knowledge of any food premises that were being built or altered, He said that without passage of the bylaw, the unit could only supervise those of which they were aware. Dr, Mills also explained that the proposed fees suggested in the bylaw did not have to be charged if in fact council felt they were double taxation. "They're just asking our co- operation so they will know where establishments are," Reeve Derry Boyle explained. Some members found this difficult to understand after it was learned from clerk Eric Carscadden that copies of all building permits approved by council were sent to the health Unit. Council finally decided to take no action on the bylaw, although they did agree to notify the unit when permits are issued for new or existing food premises.
