Mrs. Leah Keyes, Exeter was a Sunday guest with Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Devine. Mr. & Mrs. H. Morenz visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Corbett, Steve and Jeff, Hensall. James Snyder, St. Agatha Thomas visited Sunday with the latters mother, Mrs. Mary Trainor and her family. Joanne McCann, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jack McCann registered at the University of Western Ontario last week. Elizabeth Dietrich, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Dietrich, has registered at Motherhouse Academy, London as has Elizabeth Van Osch, daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Harry Van Osch. Helen McCann has returned to high school again in Hamilton. Helen is the daughter of Mrs. Lawrence McCann. Mr. & Mrs. Philip Waller have moved back to reside in London from Peterborough. George Ryan will board with his relatives while attending Fanshawe College. Earl Stebbins and Art Allemande are patients in South Huron Hospital. spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ferman Snyder. Nancy Baker, Kitchener and Sandra, Hamilton spent the weekend at their parent's home here. Nancy has entered Kit- chener-Waterloo hospital for first year nurses training. WILLIAM ROHM' THAMES ROAD About 65 mothers and their daughters sat down to a pot-luck supper Thursday evening to commence the first fall meeting of the United Church Women, After supper Mrs. Glen Stewart, program convener, opened the meeting with the theme "Time" and the call to worship. Mrs. Arnold Cann read the scripture lesson followed with prayer by Mrs. John Pyin, Mrs. Stewart gave several short readings. Mrs. ROSS Hodgert gave a reading and .a vocal duet was performed by Mrs. Reg Hodgert and Mrs. Lloyd Knight, accompanied by Mrs, Ray Cann. Mrs. Ross Hodgert introduced the guest speaker Mrs. Robt Dinney, Exeter who is the president of South Huron Presbyterial United Church Women. Mrs. Dinney gave a very inspiring talk, was thanked by Mrs. John Pym and was presented with a gift. Janet Bray and Sandra Stewart played several piano duets. Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne, president, conducted the business. Personals Mrs. Wilmar Howatt, Lon- desboro visited a few days last week with her son-in-law and daughter Mr, & Mrs. Mac Hodgert. Mrs. Warren Brock, Exeter was a guest Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Miller. Quite a number from this community attended the 25th wedding anniversary dance for Mr. & Mrs. William Hodgert at Seaforth Hall Saturday evening. A large crowd from this community attended the 25th wedding anniversary dance for Mr. & Mrs. Bill Rohde at Kirkt9n Woodham Hall on Saturday evening. Mrs. Douglas Warren, in charge of the program led the singing and a Bible study on "The Vine and the Branches", Mrs. Alvin Finkbeiner, president, conducted the business. The group is to provide the September birthday party at the Bluewater HoMe, September 18. Mrs. Warren outlined highlights of the retreat at Alma College. Hostesses were Mrs. Earl Neil, Mrs, Clayton Sims and Mrs. Claire Schwartz. Personals Mrs. Bushfield and her family holidayed at Inverhuron where the beach offered fine bathing during the hot weather. Mrs. R.W. McBain, Grimsby and Dr. & Mrs. S.L. Honey, Fenwick spent several days with Mr. & Mrs. Will Oestricher. Mrs. McBain and Mrs. Honey are sisters of Mrs. Oestricher. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Hey visited relatives in Pigeon, Saginaw and Auburn, Michigan last week. Crediton's firemen using a can of insecticide and a large plastic bag, safely dislodged a wasps' nest from a maple tree on King Street North. Mr. & Mrs. John Wade spent a delightful three-month vacation in their cottage at Carlisle, Saskatchewan. The days were warm and the evenings cool.
