T-A photo Many away on weekend Girl back from west trip Stoffa club names slate By MRS, .1 TEMPLEMAN The first two meetings of Skaffa No. 1 4-H homemaking club on "Creative Block Printing" were held as a combined meeting at the home of the leader Mrs, Spencer Jeffery, The election of officers was as follows: president, Mary Jane Templeman; vice-president, Teresa Miller; secretary, Susan Norris; vice-secretary, Marion Smale; telephone girls, Joanne Ross, Karen Miller, Joanne Jordon; press reporter, Linda Miller; leaders, Mrs. Spencer Jeffery and Mrs, Arthur Smale. Mrs. Jeffery explained the history of the craft of block printing and read designs for block printing from the ,members pamphlet, Mrs. Smale read about material on which to print and Mrs. Jeffery discussed suggested articles to make from paper decorated with a block print design. Suggested articles to make from fabric decorated with block printing was also discussed, Everyone then practiced cutting out designs on potatoes. Personals Robert McCaughey is a patient in Seaforth Community Hospital. Mr. & Mrs, David Sim, London visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. John Drake and Murray. Mr. & Mrs. 13111 Taylor and family, Kintail visited on the weekend with Mrs. Garnet Taylor. Darlene Templeman returned to Waterloo for the fall semester at the University of Waterloo. Murray Drake holidayed last week with Lorraine and Joanne Papple, London. Bosanquet lady suffers fracture By MR. MELVIN DURR Mrs. Ralph Ross had the misfortune to fall last week fracturing an arm. Linda Edwards has returned home after touring the west for six weeks visiting relatives at Onefour and Medicine Hat, Alberta. Gerald Edwards and George Willsie were in a party of 88 who travelled by bus recently to Des Moines, Iowa to visit the Pioneer Research Farms where they viewed all operations, in- cluding that of Pioneer cattle and seed corn. Mr. & Mrs. Ross Totten, Leamington visited her mother, Mrs. Helen Smith over the weekend. Kim Lansing, Toronto spent a week's holidays with her grand- parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Melville. Mr. & Mrs. David Rogers and family, Vernon, B.C. visited last week with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Hamilton and other relatives. Allan Edwards has returned from a three-week trip to eastern Canada. Fred Marton, St. Thomas Hospital, spent last weekend at his home. By MRS. On the way out they visited with Joanne's aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Reg, Setters, Regina and toured points of interest in Alberta and British Columbia before going to Van- couver Island where they visited with friends of Mr. & Mrs. Lilley.
