t BAILEY Dear Mr. Batten:
I believe most of us are aware
that you are a graduate of
Ryerson, and a former editor of a
Coke magazine in Toronto, the
Clinton News Record, and now
you are making a name for
yourself as Editor of the Times
Advocate.
Your vast knowledge has won
awards for your paper at weekly
newspaper conventions, but
surely this must have been for
your "Batten Around" or other
"chit-chat", because it's obvious
that it wasn't for your knowledge
of the Municipal Act.
May I suggest you take time to
read Volume 3 of the Revised
statutes of Ontario, page 956,
section 147-1, which you have in
your office, and then you will
realize what a STUPID editorial
you wrote in the Aug. 30th edition
of the T.A.
Yours truly,
Murray A. DesJardins
Grand Bend
Editor's comment - Sorry, Mr.
DesJardins, we don't have the
book to which you refer. Would
you be so kind to inform our
readers what information is
contained therein to back up your
opinion regarding the editor's
stupidity.

Association was held Wednesday
August 29.
Welcoming the fund-raising
festivities to their Komoka home,
Bill and Pat Chefurka demon-
strated their cooking skills.
Acting chef for the evening, Bill
tended the grill and served up
large stacks of pancakes. Pat
served Borsch, a traditional
Ukrainian dish, made from an old
family recipe. Guests at the
gift of salvation through Jesus
Christ. He said that because it is
so easy many people reject the
opportunity given them to have
new life.

at McCurdy
Due to a slight mix-up the T-A
was not able to reach the new
principal of J.A.D. McCurdy
school, John Siertsema for the
regular school introduction story.
Mr. Siertsema reports,
however, that there will be only
one new teacher at the school —
Maxine Allison, who will be
replacing Marian Triebner in the
kindergarten.
He said they are trying to work
in a few more rotary subjects in
the senior levels. The grades 7's
and B's are now on a three-way

The telling moment was
