vows at Centralia United Church, July 28, 1973, Rev. John Beaton con-
ducted the double-ring ceremony. Attending the couple were Sherry
Lewis, Judy Murray and Marian Watson, Allen Redmond, George
Descharhps and Brian Hicks, After a reception at Lucan Community
Centre, the couple left for a wedding trip to Quebec. They will reside at

celebrated Hugh's birthday, Mrs.
Blake was visiting with Mrs,
Thurman at Grand Bend, She is a
part-time actress at the Stratford
Festival and uses the stage name
Christine Bennett, Her husband,
stage name Mervyn Blake, has
been acting this past 17 years at
Stratford.

with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Vincent
and family were Mrs. Vincent's
two sisters and her mother, Mrs.
Horst Kovitzki, Kevin, Kerry and
Angela, Evart, Michigan; Mrs,

The annual festival of flowers
sponsored by the Kirkton Hor-
ticultural Society was held in
Russeldale Hall Tuesday.
A large number of entries were
entered and judged by Mrs.
Harold Fox, Dashwood. Mrs.
Ellis Strahan took first prize with
92 points. Mrs. Tom Hern was
second, with 65 and Mrs. O.C.
MacDougald third, with 63 points.
A large crowd attended in the
evening to look at the beautiful
flowers and to enjoy the
program. The evening opened
with a sing-song led by Jean
Copeland, accompanied on the
piano by Mrs. Phil Johns.
Arden Bryan, Granton played
several numbers on the violin,
accompanied by her mother Mrs.
Elwyn Bryan, on the piano.
Barbara Westman did a
Hungarian dance followed by a
speech on "Enthusiam".
Laurie. Westman played a
violin number and Mrs, Eldon
Westman accompanied by Mrs.
Jim Bearss also played the violin.
Anna Peterson, St. Marys was
the guest demonstrator for the
evening and made up several
floral arrangements which were
given away as door prizes. She
was introduced by Mrs. Eldon
Westman and thanked by Mrs.
Jim MacDougald.

The Hamilton family reunion
was held in the form of a dinner in
Seaforth Lions Park Sunday.
Harvey Edgar was elected
president for 1974. Other officers
are vice president, Mrs. Ted
Gbdctard; secretary-treasurer,
Mrs. Alvin Kemp; and social
conveners, Mr, and Mrs. Larry
Elliott.
Winners in contests were
William Sillery, Danny Elliott,
Bonnie Jean Miller, Frank
Prebble, Ted Goddard, Brenda
Kemp, Larry Elliott and Brenda
Longhergen.

Everyone enjoyed another visit
on Monday afternoon by the "The
Band". This group have been
able to provide a variety of
selections with five wind in-
struments, drums, electric organ
and a solist.
Eight tables of euchre and
crokinole were played at the
games Wednesday afternoon.
"Family night" was held in the
auditorium this week with Albert
Craig, Bayfield and Becky
Howes, Clinton sharing the
program. Each of the en-
tertainers provided their own
accompaniment with Albert
Craig playing the guitar and
singing several familiar tunes
and requests.
Becky Howes with her ac-
cordion led a sing-along of old
favorites dividing them in groups
to suit everyone's fancy such as
Scottish, Irish and war songs.
Following the entertainment a
new' resident was welcomed to
the home, Harvey Bryans,
Brussels,
Plans are being made to start
the fourth year of programs and
we would appreciate a call from
individuals or groups of volun-
teers or entertainers.
