Can't forget our ladies, so
here's a little reminder, your first
Auxiliary meeting will be held on
Tuesday September 4th -
already!! Yup, that's right
Ladies, Tuesday, September 4th.
Start the new sessions right by
making it a point to attend,
By the same token the men are
reminded their meetings start
Wednesday, September 12th,
After a two month recess there
will be plenty to discuss, so come
on over, support your Branch of
the Royal Canadian Legion - it's
not too much to expect a couple of
hours of your time once a month.
See you there„
For those of you that haven't
been around the 'old watering
hole' for a while you will notice
quite a renovation with the in-
stallation of the new commercial
aluminum and glass doors. Looks
most impressive.
Phew, I did it and now its 30 for
this week, remember - A man can
get in trouble underestimating
the power of a woman - but he can
get in far more trouble
overestimating her age or
weight,
I heard via the grapevine that
they are going to smear their ball
gloves with corn syrup so that
they can hold on to the ball, What'
will they try next?
In any event following the
Lucan game the gang converged
on Branch 540 where they were
treated to a pot luck supper and
from reports received it was
"UMMM UMMM GOOD."
The members are reminded
that 540's annual corn roast has
not been forgotten - just keep
your eyes on the bulletin boards
in the lounge for the date and
time.
Comrade President has asked
that all members muster at the
Legion Hall, Lucan at 12:00 noon
Sunday, August 19th so that we
can be ready to move off on
parade at 1.00 p.m.
What's this all about? Why it's
the date of the Lucan Lions
Monster Parade and we have
been asked to parade and show
our colors, The Mitchell Legion
Band will be in attendance and
we will be marching with them,
Any Branch who would care to
parade with us will be most
welcome - so bring along your
Branch Colors and let's show the
people that the Legion is still in
the centre of things. So polish up
those medals and fall in by the
numbers at Branch 540, let's
make this one really big.

afternoon at the Biddulph School,

Victory Branch, London.
Well let me tell you, Victory
Branch hasn't got that name for
nothing when they walloped the

will be a return match to be held
