The South Hibbert Athletic
Association was blessed with
beautiful sunshine for their an-
nual sports programme and
barbecue on Saturday.
About 650 were present for the
supper of salads, cake and ice
cream, and cured porkchops
which were barbecued to per-
fection under the watchful eye of
Russell Miller.
The entertainment began at
9:30 a.m, with a ball game bet-
ween Hibbert B. Squirt Boys,
coached by Gordon Laing,
substituting for regular coaches,
Ronald Howard and Laurie
McKellar, and Hibbert C, with
Bob Templeman as coach.
Coming out on the top end of a 19-
7 score, Hibbert C advanced to
meet Frank Elliott's Hibbert A
team who defeated them by 21 to
5.
Two games were played on the
grass diamond. Action began
with mixed boy and girl begin-
ners, and saw Barb McLean's
team win over Gwen Harburn's
14-10. Then Helen Pinder and
Joyce Miller's teafn of Squirt
Girls defeated a Hurondale team
by 39-9.

playing field saw Hibbert Ban-
tam girls, coached by Carol Scott
and Joy Ross, defeat Blanshard
25-12. In the next game, Staffa
senior girls lost out to Cromarty
by 14-22. Hibbert South Bantam
Boys then defeated North Hibbert
by 11 runs to 3.
During the supper hour, ,

was followed by an exciting game
between the Juvenile boys and a
team of local men which ended in
a 7-7 tie.

game with Kathy Elliott and
Gwen Harburn as captains, was
played, ending in a 20-8 score
with the former as winner.
In the men's all-star game,
Roys-Chiselhurst defeated
