District, rally hosts, chaired the
morning business session, when
it was decided that each district
should have a section in their
Mr. & Mrs. James Mycock and
son Stephen have sold their home
on Kent Street and have returned
to England to make their per-
manent home there.

Lambourn-Fraleigh Reunion at
Weldon Park, Arva Sunday.

Margo Moore, 9-year-old
daughter of Mr. & Mrs, George
Moore, London, is visiting her
grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Archie

family have returned from a
pleasant trip to Alberta and
western provinces.
Illness has necessitated that
Mrs. Walter Martyn has sold her
home here. Mrs. Martyn has
moved into an apartment in St.
Thomas where her sister will live
with her.
Guests with Mr. & Mrs. Cecil
Robb last week were, Mrs. Violet
Sanders of POmona, California
and Mrs, Margaret Thorndike of
Clinton.
Mrs. Ken Carter visited with a

week.

family spent the weekend with
Mr. & Mrs. Donald Abbott and
family on Manitoulin Island.
Mrs. Madeline Tindall,
Listowel spent four days last
week with Mr, & Mrs. Cliff
Abbott. Wednesday she and Mrs.
Abbott spent the day with Mrs.
Clayton Abbott, Paris.
Mrs. Gary Revington and son
Brett have returned from a two-
weeks visit in Prince Edward
Island as guests of an aunt, Miss
Enid Knight. Enroute home Mrs.
Revington and Brett flew to
Montreal where they were met by
her husband Gary and they are
spending a few days there.
Mrs. Shirley Bandola of Los
Angeles, California is visiting her
parents, Mr. & Mrs, T. Emery,
Alice Street, adding to the ex-
citement of Mrs. Emery having
won the coloured T.V. at the
Granton "Fun Day" dance,
Friday.
Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Armitage and
family holidayed in Port Elgin
last week and visited Mr. & Mrs.
Allen Tindall at Wiarton and Mr.

out of 1.8 Juniors passed; 10 out of

Lucan Trinity cubs at district Scout camp near Goderich
A crash on highway 4, Thur-
sday afternoon between a
tractor-trailer and a car caused
more than $10,000 in damages.
The accident which occurred,
just north of the Lucan village
limits involved an automobile
driven by W.J. Allan Stewart, 57
Irwin street, London and the
tractor-trailer being operated by
Kenneth Peckham, RR 3,
Granton,
Mr. Stewart was taken to St.
Dance proceeds
to aid floodlights
The Granton "Fun Day dance"
was held on Friday in the Lucan
Arena, when 700 persons enjoyed
dancing to the music of the
Desjardins Orchestra.
The 1973 Zenith Chromacolor
17" Television was won by Mrs,
Tom Emery, Alice Street and the
door prize, a 15 piece carving set
by Wm. Giesen, RR 3, Lucan.
The proceeds from the dance
go toward flood lights - almost
completed - in the Biddulph
Township Centennial Park, at
Granton.
Members of the committee in
charge were Mrs. Marion
Gricken, Mrs. Gayle Barrett, co-
chairmen, John Bryan,
treasurer, Mrs. Margaret Ryan,
Mrs. Mary Brintnell and Mrs.
Willa Harding.
Shower honours
area bride-elect
Relatives, friends and neigh-
bours gathered in St. Patrick's
"mini hall" to present Jo-Anne
Dewan with a shower of gifts, Jo-
Anne will be an early August
bride.
Contests were played with
winners Loretta Blake, Mrs. Enid
Mcllhargey, Mrs. Tennie Van
Boxmeer and Shelly Egan,
The Lucan-Holy Trinity and the
1st Fergus B Cub Packs held a
camp-out recently at Huron
District Scout Camp, Goderich. A
total of 32 boys and eight leaders
took part from Friday night until
Sunday night. The boys cooked
their own meals, camping in
groups of six with one leader,
A "Camporee Crest" could be
won by the group winning the
most competitions during the
weekend, which included
building a gateway to their
particular camp, a cooking
fireplace, a camp table, pot and
cup holders from tree branches,
nature trail recognitions, par-
ticipation in games, etc.

Biddulph Branch of the Canadian
Cancer Society wishes to thank
everyone who participated in the
Blood Donors Clinic sponsored
by the Ilderton Branch Monday.
It was most successful and the

damages to the car at $1,500 and
to the transport type vehicle at

Damages of $300 were reported
by Constable Denney in an ac-
cident on highway 4 at the Lucan
southerly limits, Saturday af-
ternoon.
Vehicles involved were driven
by Stuart Sceli, 138 Albert street,
Lucan and Rosemary Karges,
RR 2, Denfield.
Late Saturday night, vehicles
driven by Addison Herbert
Tallman, 3124 Lakeshore Road,
Burlington and Kevin David Dill,
505 Jones street in St. Marys
collided on Middlesex County
road 27. The investigating officer
was Constable D.R. Vance.
The other accident of the week
occurred early Tuesday af-
ternoon on the London-West
Nissouri townline.

Orange Pineapple Bavarian
1 envelope orange D-Zerta or 11/2
tsp. Strafford's orange jelly
powder.
* 1/2 cup Dole crushed pineapple
(in own juice)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1'h cup cold water
*1 cup Borden's 2 percent milk
(canned)
1 2 tsp. sucary1
Dissolve jelly powder in boiling
water. Add cold water, pineapple
and chill until partially
thickened. Whip milk with lemon
juice and sucaryl. Add to jellied
mixture, beat thoroughly and
return to fridge for 11/2 to 2 hours.
* 1 fruit * 1 milk- count as part of
daily allowance.

control and rolled into a ditch. A
passenger, Joseph Belliveau,

Marys hospital suffering from
cuts and bruises.

Couple honored
on anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Park, Oil
Springs, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth
Latta and David , Latta, en-
tertained many friends and
relatives at the home of Kenneth
Latta, on the 4th of Biddulph
Friday in honour of their parents,
Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Latta, who
were celebrating their 25th
wedding anniversary.
Guests 'were present from
Lucan and area, Oil Springs,
Grand Bend Varna, London, St.
Mary's, Crediton, Parkhill,
Kirkton and Dashwood.

Church services in the village
will be held in the Anglican
Church each Sunday during
August at 11:15 a.m.
The sympathy of this com-
munity is extended to Mrs.
Harold McDonald, whose
husband died in Goderich
hospital July 26.
This community was saddened
to learn on the weekend of the
sudden death of Muriel Fallis, a
former resident here, who was
vacationing in the Maritimes.
Funeral services were held in
Sarnia Tuesday with interment in
Grand Bend cemetery.
Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Waun, Megan
and Gary were dinner guests with
Evelyn and Manuel Curts Sun-
day.
Mrs. Evelyn O'Neil and Mrs.
Mary Carter, Lucan, were
Sunday visitors with Mr, & Mrs.
J.W. Horner.
Mrs. Don McLellan and
children visited with her mother
Mrs. Vera Brophey, Sunday. The
McLellan's have moved recently
from Exeter to a farm in the
Hensall-Staffa area.

with a project from the museum
at Strathroy, furnishing a pre-
1900 dining room, and were asked
to appoint a representative from
each of the three districts to the
Museum Board. Mrs, Chester
Brown, RR 2, Ilderton will
represent North Middlesex.

world's fair in Japan will be
shown on the United Church lawn
at dusk August 4 and Sunday at

Mrs. Roy Dykeman was
organist and pianist on Sunday
morning with Alan Melanson and
Doug Butler, singing trios with
her and Mrs. Ewart Madden lead
in a hymn sing.
Rev. Madden urged everyone
to join with Holy Trinity Anglican
Church for worship at 11 a.m. the
next four Sundays, returning to
the United Church September
2nd,
All women of the church were
reminded of the "Alma School for
Women" open day's program
August 21st.
Mr. Madden spoke of his ex-
periences With the Layton Ford.
Crnsade and how his life and
preaching had been changed by
this work.
"Preparing the Way of the
Lord" was the topic chosen by
Mr. Madden and he spoke of how
the crowds flocked to hear John
the Baptist preach, not because
he had a degree, but because he
was a man of God, preaching the
remission of sins, through
repentance, He said "Repent for
the kingdom of heaven is at
hand".

The prayer and Bible study
group met Wednesday with Mr.
and Mrs. Thornton in charge.
Mrs. Howard Currie lead the
Bible study,
Friday a group of young people
worked at a printers shop in
London until the "wee small
hours" helping to assemble the
Women's Auxiliary Cook Book,
Mrs. Thornton has taken 500
copies with her to the Roanoke,
Virginia convention.
Lucan ball teams
continue in action
The Irish 9 played Sylvan
Tuesday in Parkhill, winning 6-2.
It was the first time Sylvan has
been defeated. On Wednesday
Huron Park visited Lucan and
were defeated 6-5 in the bottom
half of the 7th inning.
The team invites fastball en-
thusiasts to all the games.
Lucan's team in the Ailsa Craig
and District Women's Softball
League 'won their game against
Nairn Tuesday and the game
Friday was postponed.
Friday night they play a return
game with Nairn on the Lucan
diamond at 8:80 p.m,

Mrs. W. Bradnock, Auburn,
London area chairman, brought
greetings, urged everyone to
attend the area convention in
November at the Banqueter,
London, and gave a few
highlights of the F.W.I.C. Con-
vention held in Banff in June.
Mrs. Wallace Laidlaw,
president of East Middlesex
District and wife of the county
warden, had attended the lun-
cheon for the Queen. She sat next
to Mr. Reg Cooper, who in turn,
was seated next to Her Majesty.
Mrs. Laidlaw told a most in-
teresting story of the luncheon
and her conversations with the
Queen, over Mr. Cooper!
A most bountiful "Mix and
Match" smorgasbord was en-
joyed, following which the
Middlesex County W.I.
Scholarship was awarded to
Nancy Kremers, Avon as top 4-H
club girl, to assist in furthering
her education. Mrs. Calvin
Carmichael, provincial board
member, RR 3, Ilderton, made
the presentation.
An afternoon of "fun and
games" was provided by the
member branches of West
Middlesex,

About 30 guests attended a
double celebration held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. T, Emery,
Alice Street when a daughter,

from Los Angeles for a visit after
five years absence and their son
Tom, Jr, celebrated his birthday.
