HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Exeter Times-Advocate, 1973-07-26, Page 51191:0:1:13 llt02/1" Ministryof the Environment Village of Hensall NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WHEREAS plans and an engineer's report concerning proposed waste stabilization ponds and spray irrigation to serve the VILLAGE OF HENSALL and extending into the Township of Hay have been developed for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and whereas approval is required in accordance with Section 43(1) of the Ontario Water Resources Act; AND WHEREAS it appears from an examination of the said plans that the proposed works will be located in the vicinity of port of Lots 17, 18 and 19, Concession I and part of Lot 17, Concession II, Township of Hay; NOW THEREFORE this is to give notice that the Environmental Hearing Board of the said Ministry shall, on the 8th day of August, 1973 at 9.30 o'clock EDST in the morning at the Council Chambers Municipal Hall, King Street, Village of Hensall, Ontario, hold a public hearing pursuant to Section 43(1) of the said Act. Plans of the proposed sewage works will be available for in- spection in the offices of the municipal clerks of the VILLAGE OF HENSALL and the Township of Hay. ONTARIO MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT H. Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Adams, Dashwood; Mr. & Mrs. Harry Chapman, London; Mr, & Mrs. Charles Goodman, Detroit were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett and Al. 4 Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Cudmore, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker and Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Parker, Exeter were guests with Mr. & Mrs. Robert Keyes Grand Bend on Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Eric Luther and Susan spent the past two weeks holidaying with ,relatives in Newfoundland. To hold auction in fall, asking for donations Mr. & Mrs. Ken Parker were hosts at their home on Monday evening when the young people of the Faith Tabernacle church, Centralia assembled in honor of Patsy Parker and Don Dalton and Brenda Cooper and Don Triebner, bridal couples of August. P. Sanders has returned to her home in Weyburn, Sask. after visiting friends and relatives in the area and attending Centennial Celebrations, honor. A social hour followed and refreshments were served, Mrs. Robert Dalton, Seaforth was hostess at her home in honor of Patsy Parker bride-elect of August, A miscellaneods shower of gifts were presented to the bride-elect. HAMILTON HODGINS The Whalen Community Club held a smorgasbord picnic dinner at the Community Centre on Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. MacLeod Mills and Mr. & Mrs, Earl French conducted several games and contests in the afternoon. Everyone had a good time. Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Squire held a 25th wedding anniversary dinner on Sunday at their home to honour Mr. & Mrs. Dick Lamond of London. Others guests present were Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Squire Exeter and Mrs. Harold Chittick London. Mr. & Mrs. Cleve Pullman attended a barbecue at Centralia College Saturday night. Mr. & Mrs. John Storey have as their guests Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Storey London, England and Mrs. A.J. Storey Alnivick, England. Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Storey are visiting in Saskatchewan for a week. Mr, & Mrs. Ernest Ferguson visited Sunday with Mrs. Wilma Gowan and Murray, London Twp. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Hem and .family visited Saturday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Earl French. On Wednesday evening Mr. & Mrs. Ken Hodgson had as their guests, Mr, & Mrs. David Hodgson Windsor; Mrs, David Hodgson's mother, Mrs. Mary Flowers, Twickenham, England; her brother-in-law, sister and niece, Mr. & Mrs, Fred Dickson. and Janice, Banstead England. Mr. & Mrs, Hamilton Hodgins visited Friday evening with Mr, & Mrs. Austin Hodgins, Lucan. Mrs. Leona Morley returned home from hospital on Wed- nesday last, Ontario's forest industry pays direcxtly and indirectly ap- proximately $300 million an- nually in municipal, provincial and federal taxes, including over $20 million directly to the provincial government in various charges. Only one percent of the 1,604 forest fires in Ontario during 1972 were caused by forest industry operations, and these fires burned only 129 acres of the total 18,142 acres of forest destroyed. The July meeting of the A.C.W. of St. Paul& Anglican Church was held on the church lawn, Games and contests were enjoyed by all. A short meeting followed with the President Mrs. G. A. Anderson presiding. A motion was made to send the collection of pennies for this year to the Women's Inter-Church Council Student wins scholarship Dave Moffat, Grimsby, was recently awarded an Edwin Marwin Dailey Memorial Scholarship and the Paul Comision Prize at McMaster University, Hamilton. Dave is the grandson of Mrs. D.A. Moffat of Kippen and Mrs. J.L. Kydd formerly of Exeter. He is entering his third year in Commerce in September. for the Fellowship of the Least Coin, The auction sale which will be held in conjunction with Trivitt Memorial on September 12 was discussed, Donations of used and unused articles would be much appreciated. A notice to this effect will be advertised in the near future. Rev. G. A. Anderson closed the meeting with prayer, after which all sat down to a bountiful lunch. Carmel Church Service Rev. Wilfred Jarvis conducted the service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday continuing his topic on character of the Old Testament, "Moses - The man who didn't quit." Mary, Beatrice, John and Bruce Thompson contributed two quartettes. "It is No Secret" and "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You." Services will resume in Hensall United Church and Chiselhurst in the month of August.
