next on bill
William Inge's delightful
romantic comedy Bus Stop is on
the bill this week at Huron
Country Playhouse. It will play
Wednesday through Sunday
evenings at 9. p.m„ Saturday at 6
and 9.
Bus Stop is a light comedy-
drama that combines human
warmth and humour, as a young
cowboy blusters and fights his
way into and out of the good
graces of the cabaret torch singer
whom he wishes to marry.
Bo Decker, the headstrong hero
runs the gamut of human faults,
and his story is the tale of lear-
ning the ways of the world, more
specifically, the ways of women.
It is a plot full of stories, A
snowbound bus, forced to halt at
a road stop, unloads its
passengers into a small
restaurant. Each passenger
unfolds his life and his problems
before road crews clear the high-
way, and each one is per-
manently changed from his two
hour wait at the Bus Stop.
Warm, open and earthy, Bus
Stop manages to combine the
whisky smell of rodeo with the
tender touch of romance and
leaves an unforgettable
theatrical experience. It stars
Shelley Matthews and Thom
Hayes.
The Huron Country Playhouse
Children's Theatre, is preparing
a zany and hilarious piece called
Shortshrift which it will be
presenting at the Playhouse and
on tour this summer.
For additional information
phone the Playhouse at 238-8387.
