Bruce Fulmer exchanged wedding vows in Epworth United Church,
Kingsville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne C. Elder,
Kingsville and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Elder and
the late Mr. and Mrs. John Passmore, all of Hensall. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire Fulmer, Kingsville. The couple will reside in
Windsor after their return from a honeymoon in Cape Cod,

Museum busy with tours,.

Ail members of the Strathroy
Middlesex Museum Board, plus
the curator, the treasurer and
three visitors were present for
the regular meeting.
The curator reported that five
classes from local schools had
visited the Indian artifacts
display in June, and it was
expected that. more would come
in September. Also three
Women's Institutes and a church
group have toured the Museum.
The Board decided to purchase
15 more stacking ehairs t for use
when visiting organizations

Plans were made for improved
lighting of 'display area, and
installing a plate rail for the
display of dishes, It was decided
to try to activate some com-
mittees of volunteers for such
projects as helping plan changing
displays, and picking up articles
for display. More volunteers
to help look after the museum on
open hours on Saturdays and.
Sundays would also be welcome.
At the suggestion of the two
Women's Institute members who
were present, it was decided to
write a letter, for discussion at
the County Rally of the Women's
Institutes, proposing that a
member from each district be
appointed for liaison with the
Museum Board and that the
possibility of the Women's
Institutes furnishing a room at
the museum be considered.
Donations during the month
have included a framed portrait
of Lawrence Henry Dampier,
Mayor of Strathroy 1919-1920;
four W.O,S.S.A. medals, won by
Mary Dampier Blackburn; a
cream separator, set up, ready to
operate; a hand corn planter; a
carpet; school programs from
Strathroy District Collegiate; an
1812 atlas; a picnic table for the
lawn; and cash,
As well, loans have included
hand made bedroom accessories
and clothing, kitchen utensils, a
log cabin quilt, a parlour chair
and settee, and most imposing of
all, a parlour organ, in excellent
condition, with decorated pipes.

Caven Presbyterian Church
Women held a picnic in River-
view Park July 9 with a pot-luck
supper, sports and a business
meeting.
The roll call was answered by
each giving their highlight of the
Exeter centennial celebrations
and by displaying an antique
article.
Mrs. W. Jarvis was in charge of
the devotional exercises and Mrs.
N. Stanlake prepared an in-
teresting centennial quiz on
Caven Church.
Among other things, she
brought out in her quiz the
following facts: Caven Church
was named after Rev, William
Caven; the present building was
erected in 1877; the organ of the
church was presented in 1911;
Coven Church built its manse in
1885 atrg, opt .pf42,30Qoincluding..-
the furnace.
Mrs. Charles Hoffman and
Mrs, Cecil Murray conducted
some fun games and,a sing-song
concluded the picnic,

Amid candelabra and bouquets
of red peonies, daisies and small
mums, Margaret Ann Cornish
became the bride of Walter Earle
(Pete) Howley Jr. at Zion West
United church June 23, 1973.
Rev, John Beaton officiated at
the double ring ceremony with
music by Mrs. Lorne Hern ac-
companied by the soloist Mrs.
David Moore, cousins of the
bride.
The candelabra was lit by the
bride's brother, Clayton Cornish,
Given in marriage by her
brother, James G. Cornish, the
bride wore a floor length empire
waisted A-line skirt of heavy
polyester satin. The overdress
had puffed sleeves and a high
rolled collar of sparkling nylon
net.
Her train fell from the empire
waist to a fan shape at the back.
The waist-length headpiece fell
from a garland of roses.
The bridal bouquet was a
garland of white carnations and
yellow roses amid babies breath.
The bride was attended by Mrs.
Ave Murray London as matron of
honor in mauve polyester crepe
with daisy net over all.
The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Wendy McDonald, friend of
groom and Nancy Cornish, sister
of bride. They were gowned in
green polyester crepe with daisy
net over all, styled the same as
the brides dress. The bride's
attendants carried bouquets of
yellow and white daisies amid
babies breath.
Attending the groom as best
man was John Miller of London.
Ushers were Peter Titcombe,
Toronto and Francis Cornish,
Woodham, brother of bride.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Mildred Cornish and the late
Garfield Cornish, Woodham. The
groom is only son of Walter Earle
Bowley Sr. London.
The wedding dinner was held in
the church basement and
following a reception at the Dash-
wood Community Centre, the
bride and groom left for a
honeymoon in the west. For
travelling, the bride chose a pant
outfit of blue with yellow top and
white accessories. The couple
will reside at 430 King Street,
London,
Mrs. Margaret Bowley Jr. was
entertained by several showers
prior to the marriage: staff
shower by Mrs. Cathy Wright of
Victoria Hospital; barbecue
shower by Mr. & Mrs, Chris
Bailey; showers by Mrs. Ava
Murray and Zion community
shower.
Rev. Father Basil Glavin,
C.S.B., Calgary; is visiting for
two weeks with his mother, Mrs.
Charlie Glavin and relatives.
Mrs. Bill Patterson and three
daughters, Winnipeg are
spending three weeks with her
father, Joseph Dietrich, Paul and
relatives.
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Dietrich
accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. Ted
Dietrich, Windsor are on a motor
trip for three weeks through
western provinces.
Mary Eileen and Donald Carey
are attending summer school at
Western University for the next
six weeks.
Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Dietrich
attended the high school
graduation last week at the
Motherhouse Academy, London
where their daughter Theresa
was in the graduating class.
Mrs. Nick Jeromkin and
daughters and Pam Trainor are
holidaying at Jeromkins' cottage
for a few weeks.
Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Ryan,
Chicago visited for a few days
last week with Mr. & Mrs. Thos.
Ryan and Mr. & Mrs. Michael
Ryan and families and also with
Mr. McLaughlin who is a patient
in Listowel Hospital.
John Hall received word from
relatives in Detroit of the death Of
his brother, Tom Hall; who was a
resident of this area a few years
ago and was buried this week in
Detroit,
Tom Smith returned home
from St. Joseph's Hospital,
London last week after a five-
week stay.

white picture hat with trim to
match the bodice of the dress.
The bride carried a bouquet of
red roses, white daisies, blue
cornflowers and baby's breath.
The bride was attended by her
sister, Ann Morrissey. She wore a
dress of sky blue chiffon over
taffeta with a high bodice which
was accented with pink, yellow
and blue silk embroidery. The
bodice was enhanced with a pale
blue ribbon and she wore a sky
blue picture hat embroidered
with lace, She carried a bouquet
of white daisies, blue corn-
