A family gathering at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Masse, Dash- wood, celebrated Mrs. Chris Dinney's birthday last Monday. She received a family ring set with seven stones. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hilborn and Cathy, Orangeville, were weekend guests of Nola Faist, Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Beaver and their granddaughter, Lorraine Beaver, Pittsburgh, are holidaying in Crediton, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Morlock spent several days in Gravenhurst last week. Sunday, representatives of the Gideons conducted the morning service in Zion United Church. Edgar Cudmore was the speaker; Harry Hoffman sang two solos. William Schwartz has returned home from Victoria Hospital. Hugo Schenk is a patient at University Hospital. Mr. & Mrs. William Amerongen have returned from a month's visit with relatives in Holland. Mr. Amerongen had not been back to his native land in 22 years so he saw many changes. When he came to Canada it was by boat, a nine-day voyage. The flight to Holland, his first, was made in seven hours. Celebrates 80th year By MANUEL CURTS GREEN WAY 40! The family of Albert Romphf who observed his 80th birthday July 6 held a gathering in his honor Sunday at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bullock. Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Huntley and Jarrod, St. Catharines and Jeanette Steeper, Germany are holidaying with Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Steeper. Mrs. Nellie Fallis, Winnipeg has been visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Orval Mellin and other relatives here and at Grand Bend. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Milton Pollock were Mr. & Mit Fred Desjardine, Grand Bend, Mr, & Mrs. Ross Pollock and family, Chatham, and Mr. & Mrs. Carl Pollock and family, London, The sympathy of this corn- munity is extended to Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Steeper owing to the death of Mrs. Steeper's mother, Mrs. Wm. MacGregor; also to Mrs. Hugh Adair and other relatives here owing to the death of her mother's sister, Mrs. Pearl Scott, Exeter, on Sunday. Bride-elect is feted at Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY BR INSLEY Carol Ann Robinson was presented with a miscellaneous shower of gifts in the school-room of the United Church in honor of her approaching marriage. Readings were given by Mrs. Bill Fenton followed by a few contests. The address was read by Mrs. Marjorie Steeper. The bride-elect was assisted in displaying the gifts by Lynda and Judy Robinson, Kathy Lewis and Linda Morley were in charge of the guest-book.
