After the noon meal, president George Greer conducted the business, Officers elected were president and secretary-treasurer, Evert and Joan Van Slightenhorst; sports committee, Bill and Shirley Elliot; table committee, Hilton and Sally Laing. fi A sports programme was conducted by Sally Laing and Jean Snell. Winners were Shannon Elliot, Stewart McQueen, Robbie Elliot, Jean Manson, Eddie Metcalfe, Richard Greer, Ruby Bell, Margaret Elliot, Evert Van Slightenhorst, Bert Boyd and Shirley Elliot. Families meet for reunions, hear history, hold games Hensall Community Park on July 15. Mr. & Mrs. Ed Corbett visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Ken Parker and family, Kintail, Rev. Wilfred Jarvis conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian church Sunday. Mrs. Malcolm Dougall and Mrs. Edith Bell sang a duet accompanied at the organ by Linda Bell. Flowers in the church were in memory of the late Harold Campbell, Garry Gass, and Mrs. Bruce Walker. Mrs. Pearl Shaddick visited over the weekend with Mr. & 0• Pym Reunion The 41st annual Pym reunion was held Sunday at Riverview Park, Exeter, with over 40 in attendance. The president Harry Cole welcomed everyone present. After dinner the business was conducted and the sports were as follows under the direction of Marcia and Mark Shulman. Lillian and Alvin Pym acted for Joan and Brian Pym who were unable to attend. A candy scramble was enjoyed by everyone. The youngest baby present was Jessica Estelle Mennell, with her great grand- father, William H. Essery being the oldest. Race winners were: girls 9-12, Linda Roberts, Brenda Shulman; boys 9-12, Bradley Shulman; ladies, Helen Roberts, Bev McNamara; young men, Jim Roberts, Paul McKellar; life saver and toothpick relay, Brenda Shulman's team; passing ball yelay, Linda Robert's,team; kick, the shoe, the-farthest, Paul MCKellar, Jim Roberts;'ladies kick the shoe hn the basket, Beth Cole; men, Harry Cole; balloon contest, Linda Roberts; bean jar guessing, Beth Cole; timed walking, Lena Kirkland. Register for recreation Hensall has again this year scheduled a recreation program for the children of the village, Registration will be on July 13, from 1:30 to 2:30 at the picnic pavilion at the park. Recreation will be held on Monday, Wed- nesday and for the next three weeks from 2p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Next years officers are president, Harry Cole; vice- president, Tony Shulman; secretary-treasurer, Helen Roberts; sports committee, Marcia and Mark Shulman, Joan and Brian Pym, The remainder of the afternoon was spent visiting and renewing acquaintances, Smillie-Elder Reunion The 34th annual Smillie-Elder reunion was held under sunny skies at the Seaforth Lion's Park on Saturday. Some members enjoyed a dip in the pool while the rest enjoyed renewing acquaintances and reminiscing. A sports program was carried out under the direction of Patti and John Elder which was en- thusiastically received. After the annual photograph session, a smorgasbord supper was served convened by Kay and Ken Elder. This was greatly enjoyed, after which a business meeting presided over by the Clinton Christian Reformed Church was the setting of the June 30 wedding when Tina Postma and Norman Neilands exchanged vows. Rev. Jerry J. Hoytema, Sarnia, brother-in-law of the bride, officiated during the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bart Postma, RR 4, Clinton, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Neilands, Hensall. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of polyester crepe appliqued with imported laCe. It was styled with a high neckline, empire waist and long, full sleeves closing with a cuff. A long train fell from the back of the gown. She wore a four-tier veil with a Juliet style headpiece and carried a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, white starburst mums and blue stephanotis. The matron of honor, Mrs. Minnie Buruma, sister of the bride wore a formal length gown of flocked polyester in a blue flowered pattern over blue lining. It was styled with bell sleeves, empire waistline and a long flared skirt. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Ann Walters, sister of the bride and Edda Steegstra, Clinton, a friend. The flowergirl was Suzy iNeilands, sister of the groom. They wore dresses 'identical to President Helen Howe took place. Many reports were heard, among them one from family historian Lorne Elder, telling of letters he had received from members living in far away places who wished to keep in touch with the clan and giving information on changes in their families. The wedding supper, reception and dance was held at the White Carnation, Holmesville. Prior to her marriage, the bride was honored at showers given by Bonnie Tyndall, Clinton; one given by Mrs. Alita Postma and Mrs. Ann Walters; and another shower given by Mrs. Mary Gibbings. The newlyweds are residing in Mount Forest. Family honors anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Dilling were entertained on the occasion of their 47th wedding anniversary July 6 at the Glen Allen Restaurant in London by members of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Olsen, London, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dilling of Sarnia. A pleasant evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Olsen after the dinner. Mr. & Mrs. A, Orr visited recently with Mrs. Mary Orr and daughters Crediton. Jack Corbett who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital for the past week returned to his home. Constable Douglas Wein of the R.C.M.P., Mrs. Wein and David, formerly of Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, now of Whitby visited on the weekend with Mrs. Wein's parents Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker and Patsy. The I.0.0,F and Rebekah Lodge members and families will hold their annual picnic at the Mrs. George Parker and family who are camping north of Goderich. Mrs, Sim Roobal who has been receiving treatment at South Huron Hospital Exeter returned home last week. Mr. & Mrs, Lorne Elder and Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Statham, I:ingsville were weekend guests with their sister Mrs R.M. Peck. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Harker, Patsy Parker, Don Dalton, Constable Douglas Wein, Mrs. Wein and David, Whitby were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. George Parker and family and Mr. & Mrs. Ken Parker and family who are camping near Kintail. Mrs. Robert Annan, Larry Nancy and Blair, Pickering spent a vacation with Mrs. Edith Miller. Mr. Annan who is with Kenting Aviation of Melton will return from Algeria, Kenya in Africa and Malta at the end of the month after having worked five months there. Mrs. Love's daughter, Mrs. Lois Pentney, Thunder Bay, spent last week with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Love. This week Mr. Love's daughter and husband, Major & Mrs. Robert Graham, David and Kathryn are visiting the Loves on their way from Edmonton to Kingston, where they have been transferred.
