The A.C.W. met on Thursday place at Jersey Public School near Newmarket and the second at Keswick public school where special tribute to Mr. Taylor who is leaving Usborne School. In summing up the trip, all agreed it was great and most worthwhile. Mr. Ron Heimrich is Principal. Both performances were ex- tremely well-received. Thursday's agenda included a tour of Casa Loma, lunch at Edwards' Botanical Gardens, and a visit to the Ontario Science, Centre where the students spent considerable time enjoying the exhibits in the Science Arcade. On the way home, the bus was quiet for awhile as most were tired. The new agreement covers nursing ser- vices purchased from that Organization by the county., The amendment includes the new rate of $7 per visit, which had already been approved by council. It also provides for a 13th payment or refund each year when the actual cost per visit for any year is known, which is usually early the following year. It was felt by the committee that the latter ammendment should result in reduced deficits and therefore should reduce any unsubsidized grants required from the county in future years. About 75 members of the Hardy family met in the Lions Club Park Sunday for the annual picnic. Races, etc. were arranged by Mr. & Mrs. Andy VanGeel and Jane Hardy, followed by a ball game and supper. Page 12 Times-Advocate, July $, 1973 Countygivesopproval to nursing agreement On June 4 the students of the Usborne Central School senior choir took part in a Bikeathon in order to raise money for an overnight singing and sightseeing tour to Toronto, scheduled for June 20 and 21. After pledges for the fifteen-mile route were collected, the Choir realized a grand total of over $500. On Wednesday, June 20, 62 choir members accompanied by chaperones Mr. Taylor, Mrs, Ottewell, Mrs. Hodgert, and Mr. Peter Snell boarded the bus and headed for Toronto, The choir, under the direction of principal A. Taylor, presented a variety program which included popular songs like "Joy to the World" and "Proud Mary" and classics like "Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Members of the choir also tap danced and played guitar and accordion. The first performance took By MRS.
