MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT Project No. 6-0198-69 TENDERS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM for the TOWNSHIP OF STEPHEN Tenders sealed in the envelopes provided which shall be clearly marked as to contents, will be received by the Contracts Officer, Ministry of the Environment, 8th Floor, 135 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 1 P5, until 3:00 p.m. Toronto time on THURSDAY, JULY 19, 1973 for the construction of the works described below. On the same day, commencing at 3:15 p.m. Toronto time, the tenders will be opened and read publicly by the Tender Committee in the Conference Room, 8th Floor, at the above mentioned address. The work consists generally of the supplying of materials and the construction of 680 feet of 8" diameter and 17,000 feet of 6" diameter watermain, together with approximately 5,650 feet of water service piping. Complete tender documents may be obtained from B. M. Ross and Associates Limited, 41 West Street, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 2K5 on payment of a deposit of $35.00 per set. Each deposit shall consist of two cheques (not necessarily certified) payable to the Treasurer of Ontario in the amounts of $20.00 and $15.00. Upon the return ofthe Consulting Engineer within three weeks after the closing date for the tenders of complete sets of tender documents in good condition, cheques will be returned as follows: (a) Both cheques will be returned in respect of one set of documents only to each general contractor who has submitted to the Ministry a bona fide tender for the general contract, (b) The cheque in the amount of $20.00 only will be returned on the receipt of each other set of tender documents. CARRY KITS Broadway, Hollywood actor to entertain at Playhouse James Murphy, managing director .at Huron Country Playhouse, announced today that George R. Robertson will be the featured player in this season's opening production, "Under The Yum-Yum Tree". Mr. Robertson, a native of Brampton, has spent a great deal of his career in the United States. In New York, he has played in several off-broadway produc- tions, and was co-starred on broadway in "Venus Is". In Hollywood Mr, Robertson appeared in four major films, "The Grasshopper", "Airport", "Marooned", and "Rosemary's Baby". A veteran television performer he appeared in "The FBI," "The Most Deadly Game," "Lassie, "Divorce," "The Jackie Gleason Show", and two serials, "Secret Storm" and "Love of Life". Mr. Robertson returned to his native Canada in 1971 where he has done ten shows for television and two films "U Turn", and "Paperback Hero" to be released shortly. In the Ym-Yum Tree, Mr. Robertson will play Hogan, the part played by Gig Young on Broadway and Jack Lemon in the Hollywood Film. Also in a leading role is Shelly Mathews, native of London, who has just completed a very full season at Theatre London. Among her many roles there were Emma in "The. Talisman", Jacquelyn in "Boeing-Boeing" and Ela in "Charlie's Aunt." Playing opposite Miss Mathews is Toronto actor Thom Hayes, who appeared recently in the Toronto Workshop Productions' musical, "Dear Old World we Love you Anyway". Glenn Wright officiated at their ceremony with music by David Elston and soloist Mrs. Marlene Mathers. Given in marriage by her uncle, the bride wore a formal length gown of polyester satin. The bodice was offset by an embroidered lace yoke, outlined by a gathered lace ruffle. An embroidered lace and ruffle also outlined the buttom of the skirt, the short puffed sleeves and the fan shaped train, A waist length veil completed the ensemble. The bridal bouquet was a cascade of red roses and baby mums. Matron of honor was Mrs. Richard Wastell, Other at- tendants were Linda Whiting and Regina Van Bakel, They were dressed alike in floor length gowns of flocked nylon sheer over summer green lining, with mat- chingshort puffed sleeves. The bodice as plain green polyester crepe. They carried nosegays of white tulle , trimmed with green, white roses and lily of the valley. Ken Manual was the best man, Ushers were Melvin Whiting and Allan Underhill, Following a reception at the church parlour, the couple left for a wedding trip to the Kingston area, For travelling, the bride changed to a street length blue dress with white accessories, The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Stan Whiting, Exeter and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Syd Mercer, Port Ryerse. The couple will reside in Exeter. Rode - RWiel Baskets of yellow and white mums and pink gladioli adorned the altar of Our Lady Of Mt, Carmel Church, Mt, Carmel, June 9 when Shirley Marie Ryan and Ronald Carl Rose exchanged marriage vows. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John A. Ryan, RR 2, Crediton and the groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Wm, L. Rose, RR 3, Mitchell. Rev. Fr, J.G. Mooney of- ficiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Gordon Rose, aunt of the groom was organist and John Campbell, Parkhill sang. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length wedding gown of pat- terned souffle chiffon with mandarin neckline, fitted bodice and full cuffed sleeve, A full skirt with attached chapel train fell from the empire waist. The neckline, waist and sleeves were accented with guipure lace and satin trim, A Juliet cap held a finger tip, three-tiered French silk illusion veil. Both were trimmed with matching lace. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white mums. Mrs. Mary Brintnell, sister of the bride was matron of honor. 41er dress was of capri blue chiffon with mandarin collar, long full cuffed sleeves, empire waist and full gathered skirt. The neck, bodice and sleeves were accented with white dainty guipure lace. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow daisies. Bridesmaids were Diane Wolfe, sister of the groom and Grace Beuerman. Vicky Wolfen, niece of the groom was flower girl. Their dresses were like the matron of honor's. Dennis Wolfe, was best man and guests were ushered by Roy Ryan, and John Ziler. Dan Brintnell was ring bearer. A supper, reception and dance were held in the Dashwood Community Hall. For travelling, the bride chose a mint green dress with matching sleeveless coat and white ac- cessories. Mr. and Mrs. Rose will reside on the groom's farm at RR, 3, Mitchell after a honeymoon spent in Northern Ontario. Prior to her marriage the bride was honored at showers given by Mrs. Russ Brintnell, Granton; community shower by Mt. Carmel friends and relatives; a community shower at Mitchell given by Mrs. Diane Wolfe, Nancy Rose and Mrs. Dorothy Schutt; a shower in Seaforth given by Grace Beuerman, attedcia Calvary United Church, Dash- wood, was the setting for a June 16th wedding when Judith Catherine Guy and Paul Roderick Morrison exchanged vows during a double ring ceremony. Rev, Glen Wright, Exeter United Church was the officiating clergyman. The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Guy, Dash- wood, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Murdock Morrison, Varna. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a self- fashioned floor length gown of polyester satin with accents of embroidered floral nylon in the bib and sheer sleeves accented by lace. She wore a matching Juliet cap with a fingertip veil and carried a cascade of red sweetheart roses, miniature white carnations and lily of the valley. The bride also wore an heirloom engagement ring which had been her paternal grandmother's. Carol Burt, cousin of the bride, Windsor, was matron of honor and wore a floor-lenth gown of multi-pastel floral flocket tricot over turquoise lining styled similarly to the bride's gown. The bridesmaids, Helen Liebold and Celeste Holmes, friends of the bride, both of London, wore gowns like the matron of honor's but with yellow under lining. They all wore rosettes of matching material in their hair and carried mixed round bouquets of yellow daisies, white shasta daisies, turquoise tinted carnations, baby's breath and a single red rose in the centre. Murray Morrison, brother of the groom, Ilderton, was the best man, while Bob Hayter and Mack Webster, friends of the groom, both of Varna, were the ushers. The wedding dinner reception was held at the Dashwood Community Centre. Richard Guy, brother of the bride, Den- field, acted as master of ceremonies and Don Currie, Toronto, offered the toast to the bride. Following the reception, the bridal couple left for a honeymoon in Eastern Ontario. The bride donned, a yellow polyester knit dress with jersey print sleeves and collar. The groom chose a doubleknit navy blue co-ordinating suit. The couple are residing in the Varna area. , Pete Pospill, Varna, was the soloist accompanied by Floyd MeAsh, Hamilton at the organ, 4 jll 4' 11
