A special welcome is extended to those who are "coming home" for this event and we hope that your reception is such that you won't wait until our next 100-year celebration before favoring us with another visit. Our centennial committee has come up with a gala program for the centennial and we're certain that everyone in the community is indebted to them for their efforts. Many other groups and in- dividuals have planned events to help entertain you and it is likely that other spontaneous attrac- tions will crop up during the week. While we are, all enjoying the centennial, we urge you to stop and consider the efforts of those who have made this community such a good place to work, play and live. Our progress has resulted from the hard work and personal sacrifice of a great many people through the ages. In this spirit of celebration, let us each dedicate ourself to tak- ing our place in the activities of the community so those who will follow may be as thankful as we for the job done by those who +lave gone before us. We particularly want to remind residents and visitors alike to secure a copy of the history book compiled by J. L. Wooden. A tremendous amount of work has gone, into this attractive publication and we are indeed fortunate that Mr. Wooden was so vitally interested to spend the vast amount of hours required to compile such a complete history of our community. It is a book which everyone will 'want to own. For those visiting our community for the first time, we extend an invitation to look over the many fine facilities you will find in our midst. We feel that our recreation, parks, hospital, schools, etc. are among the finest you will find in any communi- ty of this size and there's always a warm welcome and helping hand to those who consider moving into our community to establish residences, com- mercial ventures or industry. Enjoy your stay with us and come back soon.
