Hold family reunion
to fete B.C. couple
New staff member at GB PUC

A family reunion was held at
the home of Mr. & Mrs, Bob Blair
Friday in honor of Mr. & Mrs.
Andrew Blair, B.C. They spent a
few days visiting the former's
brothers, ,Jack and Donald,
London and sister; Isobel (Mrs,
Ron Fletcher) before leaving to
attend a convention in PEI.

Karen Skinner is at Camp
Sylvan as a counsellor for three
days.
Mr. & Mrs, M.H. Elston visited
Hamilton Road Presbyterian
Church, London where their
grandson David is organist and
choirmaster; also Gethsemane
United Church where Gayle
Elston is organist and choir
leader.
Mrs. Inez Dickey and Joyce
attended the Staley family
reunion, Saturday held at
Courtland.
Mr. & Mrs. Allan. Elston and
Mr. & Mrs. Mervin Elston were
guests ,of David and Gayle Elston
at their home in London Wed-
nesday. Following they attended
the convocation held in Alumni
Hall. University of Western
Ontario.
Mr. & Mrs. J. Dickey heard
from their son Bill of Fort Simp-
son N.W.T.He is enjoying hiswork
there as a stationary engineer
and also likes the fishing season,
Mrs. George Me Falls was a
guest Saturday at the Squire-
Morgan wedding in Brinsley

Dickey and Joyce attended a
shower in Tilbury Sunday held in
honor of Electa Mailloux, fiance
of Jim Dickey.

sermon on "Doubting Thomas"

Parker, a third-year student of
Huron College, London Mr.
Parker was a lawyer for 27 years

Sunday the Holy Communion
was celebrated in the church.
Joan Cunningham presided at the
organ for the service, A letter
from the Most Rev. A.R. O'Neil,
former Archbishop of Fredericton
was read. Archbishop O'Neil left
Clandeboye 49 years ago, to at-
tend Huron College and the
University of Western Ontario,
where he later received a B.A.,
L.Th., B.D., M.A. and D.D.
He was ordained to the
priesthood at Holy Trinity
Church, Lucan 43 years ago on
June 8th Whitsunday Archbishop
O'Neil still has the College Gown
St. James Congregation gave him
when he left the parish.
Rev. Carson preached on the
theme `Dead or Alive'. He began
with the question, "What's life
like in your congregation?" He
went on to point out that people
tend to take life in the church
for granted, On this Whitsunday,
Mr. Carson said, we are
reminded that as Christians we
are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.,
God in spirit is inside us. We
nurture this spirit by daily prayer
and Bible reading. When our daily
devotions become so ifnspiring
that we hate to leave them then
God is truly with us.
This deepened spiritual life
should be brought into the
congregation to which we belong.
We should pray for the minister
during the week so that on
Sunday he can give the guidance
the congregation needs.

Keown's property. Mr. & Mrs.
Desaulniers plan to be per-
manent residents and are
renovating their cottages. Todd is
a construction foreman and Lois
is a director of music for Petrolia
High School.
On Sunday the newly organized
Mosquitos soccer team played
the Seaforth experienced players
with Grand Bend getting low
score, 9-1.

in the new picnic pavilion at the
Dashwood Community Centre.
The pavilion is being erected
through funds raised by previous
celebrations.

After a six-hour trans-Atlantic

man, Lambton Motors, Sarnia,
landed at Gatwick Airport in
London, England. They rented a
car to drive through the coun-
tryside to Wall's End and Whitley
Bay. There they visited with Mr.
& Mrs. Thomas Nethercott
Coltman as guests of honor at his
night club. Mr. & Mrs. Rick
Coltman spent the week in
London going to the shows.
Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Mac-
Donald had the Neil family picnic
reunion at their home on Sunday
with visitors from Detroit,
Sarnia, Exeter and Lucan.
Pete Eisenbach moved to the
Bluewater Rest Home at Zurich
last week.
Mr. & Mrs. A. Hamilton visited
their son and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. a
Barry Hamilton in Ottawa last
week,
