A miscellaneous shower was held at the home of Mrs. Nancy Guy, Denfield for Judy's relatives and friends from the Ilderton area as well as Windsor, Essex and Wardsville. Mrs. Nancy Guy and Mrs. Carol Burt, Windsor were the hostesses. A kitchen shower was held at the home of Mrs. Mildred McAsh, Varna, for Paul's relatives and friends from the area. Mrs. The employees of the T-A are pleased to announce that an ad- dition had been made to their number for the summer. Janet Ecker, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. D.A. Ecker, Exeter has joined the T-A and will be working on the special centennial edition Af the paper, for the rest of_ May and June. After thaf, her duties will be more diverse, as she helps to fill in for vacationing staff members. Janet has just finished her second year in journalism at the University of Western Ontario. She worked at the St. Thomas Times-Journal during the one- week internship program sponsored by the journalism department. The girls of the Hi-C group entertained with contests and hilarious games. Mrs. Doug McAsh, sister of the groom-to-be assisted Judy in opening a few miscellaneous gifts. Following this a gift of money was presented to pur- her four-year course, but naturally hopes to work in the field of journalism. Of her work on the centennial issue, Janet says she is really a a =Pr a! 02 et 4. enjoying it, because of the ex- perience she is gaining, because it is close to home, and because of her interest in history. "I enjoy looking at all these old photographs and there seems to. be a pretty good response," she said. "Besides, it's a chance for me to get involved in Exeter's centennial and I think it's im- portant for a community to be familiar with its history. It gives a community roots and a per- sonality of its own," she added. Horses are Janet's hobby and in her spare time she trains and shows her father's two Arabian geldings. By MRS. ASK BOOK RETURN Due to the discontinuing of the Huron County Library Service at Elimville, all books are to be returned to the library on May 26th at Elimville Church.
