With 113 young men and women receiving their diplomas in three courses, the graduation ceremonies usually held at Huron Hall were moved to the spacious quarters in the former RCAF recreation centre. In his welcome address, principal James MacDonald said the school enjoyed the ad- vantages of a small college but had plenty of expansion potential as far as graduation was con- cerned by using the recreation centre. MacDonald paid tribute to area businesses, veterinarians and project farmers for their co- operation in supplying facilities for on the job training. The guest speaker was Dr. D. G, Howell, dean of the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph who stressed the importance of healthy agriculture to the Canadian economy, "While farm population is declining, the farm industry is actually on the rise and this can be attributed to ever-increasing efficiency," said Dr. Howell. ....4monommo Photos by Doerr He continued, "Agriculture output is expanding at the rate of three percent ,a year in Canada and this is contributing to the well being of the country."
